Hanksters Windows Siding & Doors

I hired Hankster’s Widows, Doors and Siding to replace all windows and the front door of my home. I was initially very satisfied with the installation and the price. Very good customer service. One of my windows needed to be replaced and that was completed in a timely fashion. Four years ago, I contacted Hankster’s about the cloudiness in between the panes of glass of my front window. I have called and left messages eight times during last summer (2017) and although the message on the answering machine promises a call back, none have been received. This is the fourth season my front window has been compromised and now, the windows on either side of the front window are showing the same cloudiness. I realize this is a problem of the manufacturer of the windows but these windows are under warranty and after another call, with message left, no one returns my calls nor offers to discuss with me options for getting these windows replaced.
I can’t recommend this business due to lack of follow-up with problem issues.

I had a screen door, 3 upper floor windows and a dining room window installed. The installation date was Jul 18,2016, when the dining room window was installed, I found that the inner pane was etched. I pointed this out to the installer, and he took measurements and assured me this would be replaced. Brent has also been over to take another measurement and assured me the window was ordered and he said he wanted the replacement completed by end of Sept. This has not been done, numerous calls placed to his cell and business with no further follow-up. I will not be using this company for any future jobs and do not recommend this company, the customer service is very poor.

My experience with Hanksters is awful and I don't recommend his services to anybody. I purchased a new patio door back in 2010 with lifetime warranty. Three years later in January I realized that the glass seal between the patio door was coming out. This caused a hole along the seal resulting in approx. 2-3 inches of ice forming along the door inside my kitchen. Not only was I losing a significant amount of heat but I have since learned that I have some mold forming due to this issue. I have tried to contact Hanksters many times, left many messages, etc., as the problem was getting progressively worse. Five months later (in May) two employees were sent to my home to look at the door and shockingly announced that my patio door was not one that they carry and was therefore not installed by them. I couldn't believe at that statement. I have sent Hanksters a letter with the proof of the payment but to this day the problem was not fixed. I am highly unsatisfied with the product that was installed, the price that I paid for and most importantly, the very poor service that was provided to me as a customer after many requests to correct this situation.

I got several quotes in Brantford from local window and door companies to replace my two exterior doors in my home. He was the cheapest price by far, and it appears I got what I paid for. The side door caused me nothing but problems for weeks - it leaked excessively from where the window was installed in the door, and it took Hank coming back twice to fix it before the issue was finally solved. The door leaking was not the worst part - his customer service was awful, he was rude on the phone and was extremely unavailable. At times, a week would go by without a returned phone call, and I always had to call several times to get him on the phone. He would never call back when he promised. When I finally did get him on the phone, he was short with me, and wouldn't make himself available - he was not flexible whatsoever, even though it was his issue he was fixing. I work a full time job and asked him to come at 8:00am to repair the door, but he told me he "doesn't start work until 8:30am" (he is the owner of his company). I also asked him to come on my lunch anytime between 11:00am - 1:30pm but that was "inconvenient for him" and refused. I took time off work to meet him at 4:30pm (the ONLY time that was available for him) and when I got to my house and he had already come and gone... there was no need for me to be at the house but he insisted I needed to be there. The trim around my door on the inside of my house has been ruined from the water leaking in and all the time it took for him to finally fix the issue, and he also left holes in my wall from removing the old trim/doors that I had to fix and paint myself. I want to stress that I understand with any installation or renovation, there may be issues that arise, and I am fine with that. What was most disappointing was his customer service, and willingness to fix his issues in any sort of timely manner. He was incredibly difficult to get a hold of, and was rude and frustrating to work with. I've had a number of large renovations/upgrades to my home in the past two years, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I hope this review saves somebody else all the trouble I went through!

Hank was very helpfull and the product was high in quality. Very nice windows. Great installers and a great price. Will recommend to anyone looking for new windows in the near future

First off the salesman Jay, he conned my mother into signing a contract that we couldn't get out of. He said "sign this for my boss knew I was here". Then they came into our house did a great job, BUT they moved the furniture that an old women can’t put back herself, left a bit of a mess in the bedroom, broke a screen that they have to come back and replace. As soon as I handed over the money hank couldn’t leave fast enough he left so fast that our hallway carpet got stuck in the door and he never even noticed.

I hired Hanksters to install new siding and a new bay window for my home. The customer service was incredible - easy to contact, easy to understand, and very accomodating. The installers were pleasant and very good at their job. They went over and above for me, and I couldn't be happier! I highly recommend this company, and would use them again in my new house!
