Never again

The highlights:
1)Salesman talked us out of hardwood and into LVP. "LVP is very durable, we have a pet specific floor available, it's the same price as hardwood, choose the one you like the look of over the material because it's the same quality".
That was our first mistake. These LVP floating floors are garbage.
2) Salesman came to our home to measure and give a quote. Sat at our dining room table playing sales games instead of just emailing the quote like everyone else we spoke to it. He did give us a competitive price and they had the floor I thought I wanted so OK despite the red flags. Told the whole project would take 3-5 days.
3) On the installation date an unmarked van showed up late. Crew immediately started whining about the furniture in our home even tho we were expressly told to leave furniture after we had offered to move larger items like the king bed. Red flag central.
4) Lazy, careless, incompetent crew took almost two weeks to "finish" the installation. Things in my home were damaged and then hidden, it wasn't finished at all, the entire house was a disaster. Thousands spent in hotels and pet boarding so we could stay out of the way for the install. Crew asked us to stay extra nights. Damaged planks throughout the house, floorboards cracking beneath us, stairs not glued, missing baseboards, visible subfloor, etc etc. Crew telling us that PDJ had told them they wouldn't pay them (crew) for things like installing floor around my fireplace.
5) Crew worked some half days, some full days. When asked later why they were not working the expected hours to get the installation completed on time we were told things from "they didn't have enough floor so they were spacing it out" to "we told them to take longer to do a better job". We did at one point kick them out of the house because things were going so badly, so it is on us that we lost half a day there.
6) Charged my credit card against terms of our written agreement of "final charge upon completion".
7) Disaster continued as PDJ Shaw refused to take any responsibility for this nightmare installation. Weeks of back and forth. We had to cancel our Christmas.
8) More money and time spent on home inspectors and lawyer consultations as we were gearing up to sue them. That's how bad this project was. The home inspector was horrified at the quality of the work. I have never, ever considered suing someone in my life. It was absolutely shocking.
9) PDJ Shaw finally started to come around and take some responsibility for their mess. Someone actually apologized at some point near the end. They agreed that this installation was not up to par.
10) PDJ agreed to send someone to fix things, sent the same crew lead as before. Now he's lazy, careless, incompetent, and also hostile.
11) Sent someone else after we had no choice but to complain about the original guy as he was arguing about doing the work we had agreed on.

***New installer is competent, professional, works quickly, easy to deal with. I don't know why they didn't send him THREE MONTHS AGO when this all started. PDJ Shaw did start to work with us towards the end and finally did what they could to try and make it right, hence the second star in this review. We have nothing but good things to say about Tom and how quickly things moved at the end with help from Kevin.***

12) My home has been a building site for three months, all my belongings stored in my garage and basement which has been an enormous inconvenience. Hopefully nothing has been damaged over the winter.
13) Floors have finally been installed to a reasonable standard, but they're awful quality. Will be replacing with hardwood next year. A very expensive mistake, financially and otherwise.

We will not be purchasing from PDJ Shaw again.
