Saved by House Depot in the Ice Storm of '13

It was the ice storm Christmas 2013 in Toronto. I was actually away from Toronto when it happened, but I heard there was partial damage to the electrical line at my house so I came home not sure what to expect. The hydro line on the wall outside my home was partially ripped from the wall, giving inconsistent hydro service.
After a few days of this my furnace went down. Hydro said because I had partial service, they needed to get to the 30,000 homes that had no power before they would consider helping me. I was down to 60 degrees. I started calling certified electricians.
I called a few, quotes of $1200-1500, we'll get to you in a few days. I have 2 small children. I called House Depot.
They called me back that day, $600 for the reconnection, with proper permit and paperwork, we'll take a look at your furnace and water heater. We'll be there at 4pm. He came when he said he would. Turns out the ground wire coming into my house was disconnected, leading to wildly inconsistent fluctuations in my house that fried my furnace and another appliance. He fixed it in short order.
Then we couldn't get into the basement apartment to look at the furnace because the key didn't seem to work. rather than leave, which anyone else would have done, they actually helped me wiggle the key just right to get in. I still don't know how they did that. The furnace was not coming on, dead. They figured out the furnace transformer was fried. They didn't have the part there. They drove back to get the part, and fixed the furnace by installing a brand new transformer.
So how much did I pay for the pleasure? Anybody else would have fleeced me. Besides the $600 to reconnect, which was at the very low end of estimates I got, he charged me $260 including parts to install the new transformer for the furnace. Wow!
This man was sent by God to save my house and keep my family warm in the Ice Storm of '13. No joke. Thanks from my wife, my 4-year-old daughter, my infant son and our mother-in-law. You saved us this day.
