I worked with a designer to redecorate and redesign my dining room. I asked the designer to make sure that the round table and chairs I chose would comfortably seat 6. She assured me it would work. It didn't. The table was way too small and the seating was very uncomfortable. I was certain that since I worked with a designer that I would be able to return the table and choose one the next size up. Walter explained that since I am the one who thinks it doesn't work and there is really nothing wrong with the table, I would have to pay him a restocking fee. In other words, I would pay price and a half and still have no table! The designer and Walter suggest I purchase a glass table top 10" larger than my table ($800- and not budgeted for). It looks absolutely horrible! I just feel so horrible about this whole thing. I looked forward to having a beautiful dining room after years of three boys using our dining room as their project/homework room. I paid the cost of working with a designer in order to not make any mistakes. Well, I now have a table that I will cover with tablecloths.
