We called this company because we were having a problem with the electronics in our refrigerator. We provided make and model and were told that it was probably the motherboard, and how much that part would be, plus labour. The call was assigned to a tech who came out, but without the part. He stood in the kitchen and said the exact same thing that was said on the phone and that he would have to order the part, which was now 25% more than we were told on the phone. This guy did not “diagnose” the situation while he was here. He stood in the kitchen. He did not pull the fridge out to ensure it was indeed the motherboard. He got zero new information. And we were charged $99.70 for that “service call.”
I called the company and was told the reason for the service call charge was because the tech guy told us there would be a service call charge after he left. But there was NO SERVICE performed! I was told we had the benefit of the tech’s 20 years of experience. What benefit? If he needed to confirm it was the motherboard before ordering the part, that is fair. That’s a service call. But he didn’t do that. He didn’t discover anything, he didn’t confirm anything. He ran no diagnostics. He did not observe the motherboard. He knew absolutely nothing more about the situation after coming here than he did when he arrived. He stood in the kitchen for five minutes. So what was the point of this visit??
We have lived in the Cowichan Valley for over twenty years and have dealt with numerous tradespeople, yet this is my first complaint. I do NOT recommend doing business with this company.
