Neil Durling was outstanding on this emergency service call, at 7:00pm on a Sunday of a long weekend! He identified the reason my a/c wasn't working within seconds of opening the cover plate - it was a faulty part.
However, although the a/c unit was under warranty, it wasn't with Reliance - so it would be quite a costly repair, or we would be without cool air during one of the hottest days of the summer. Dissatisfied with both options, I asked Neil if there was anything else he could do. And miraculously he was able to start up the a/c unit manually!!
The part still needs to be replaced, but at least now we can comfortably wait for it to be repaired under warranty. It was a pleasure to know Reliance doesn't coach their specialists to push sales on customers, but ensure the best service instead. I'll be calling them in the future for all the heating and cooling needs. Thanks Funace Whisper!
