I am a general contractor and recently hired manotick concrete to do a small addition foundation for me. It was a bit more complicated that a standard addition. The addition is to accommodate a future elevator shaft. They were the only company even willing to bid on the project due to the small size. I contacted 3 others and nothing. So at least they have that going Ford them. Their crews seemed to have a lack of cummunication with the office and vice versa, some guys would show up with no drawings, the pit was not poured even though they thought it had been.
One crew came to pour the basement floor only to see a big hole in the ground on the inside which caused some confusion for them, it was all clear on the drawings which they had and didnt give this crew. There were a few different crews.
In the end it was done according to the plans, with a few minor issues. One section of footing is out of level by 3 inches, normally not an issue bit it happened to be inside the pit where it was important. The walls are out of square 2 1/2" over 8 feet. The contract price is actually pretty close to the quote which is good. My expectations are high of my subs and employees and myself. I know dealing with alot of crews and trusting employees to do work is tough, communication on a large scale is tougher and keeping customers updated and satisfied is almost impossible when you have alot of projects on the go. Considering the size of the company and the size of my project, im satisfied. Not ecstatic. I will be looking for someone else next time however.
