Between our house and garage, we needed to have multiple levels of shingle and flat roofs replaced. A friend recommended J Stewart, and from the beginning, John provided that extra bit of care and detail by going up onto the different levels to take photos and assess the scale of the work, which included the removal of a rooftop deck. Not only did we receive a quote very quickly, it was also the most reasonable of the 3 we got. He was quick to respond to questions we had and accommodating regarding timing. Once work commenced, his dedicated crew of 3 was pleasant and professional and completed the job in 5 days as was predicted. John came almost every day to monitor the progress and help as well. They cleaned up along the way, including hauling away the remains of the deck, and by the time they were done, our property was immaculate. A few days after the job (and a fair amount of rain), John returned to inspect the roof to make sure all was right and tight. He also recommended someone to build a replacement deck who was also very pleasant and professional with great ideas and solid skills. I would highly recommend J Stewart Roofing to anyone who values dedication to superior workmanship.

Mine is not a leaky-roof story, but it could easily have turned into one. This Spring, my neighbour suggested we replace the shingles on our shared, circa 2000 garage roof. No leaks or missing shingles from what we could see at ground level, but still...

My neighbour called several roofing companies. Only one came out to take a look. The estimator provided a verbal estimate. I wanted a detailed, written estimate - and a better idea of the state of the roof. A friend recommended a local company that had worked on two of his homes and his parents home. So I called J. Stewart Roofing. John came by, climbed up on the roof and took photos. I was surprised to see warped and missing shingles on the back alley side of the garage. And those lumpy bits? They were not raccoon droppings as I'd thought!

The three-man crew arrived on time and worked efficiently and steadily, despite the 30+ degree heat. They finished the job an hour before a sudden downpour. No leaks and the crew left my garage entrance and floor cleaner than how they'd found it. I was even happier that my garden had suffered no damage.

John checked the work afterwards and sent me pics of my beautiful new roof. He is the ideal contractor: knowledgeable, thorough, easy to reach and a good communicator. He and his crew offer superb customer service. If only other roofing companies were as professional!

We contacted J Stewart Roofing from a neighbour referral for an urgent repair. The team came quickly and fixed The issue which got us through the winter. We then had them come back to do the entire roof including vents, skylight and some gutter work.
They were extremely responsive throughout the process and worked hard every day they were here (despite some inclement weather). The grounds were spotless every night and the team did an exceptional job. We have had countless compliments on the work done. We would Highly recommend.

The supervisor John provided photos of the roofs condition when he gave the estimate. He answered emails promptly and oversaw the work daily. The 3 workers were careful about flower beds and did a thorough job cleaning up each day. Work was completed in 2 days.

J Stewart replaced our roof 20 years ago. We had a leak in a door transom to roof connection recently. John came several times to find the leak and then fixed it. Even though the company doesnt do slate he repaired some of our old slate roof tiles too. He is honest, responsive, looks after his customers for years and has a great crew. I requested quotes from 2 companies for a new roof and selected J. Stewart Roofing Ltd for the following reasons: 1. prompt response from John the owner who climbed the roof and gave me a comprehensive report with pictures of the current condition. He followed up with a detailed quote 24 hrs later. Most roofing estimators don't climb the roof when preparing their quote. 2. J. Stewart Roofing Ltd is a family owned business and I knew that I would be dealing directly with the owner on the project. 3. The quote was competitive. With good weather, the job was completed in 2 days. J. Stewart Roofing Ltd only uses 1 roofing crew, so I got the "A" team and Dan, Darryl & Chad did an excellent job. It was clear from observing the team that they were experienced and knew exactly what they were doing. All my questions were answered to my satisfaction and when the job was completed there was no damage to my landscaping and the team did a thorough job of cleaning up. John attended on both days and provided pictures of the work in progress as well as the finished product. I would highly recommend J. Stewart Roofing Ltd for any roofing work.

John gave me an estimate which included photos of my roof and another he did next door 10 years ago...looked new.
Also pictures of the procedures he was to remove multiple layers of old shingles foolishly piled onto one another over the years before we purchased. This job was done 3days.
His crew worked very hard removing absolute piles of shingles and cleaned up after themselves.
John himself did the more technical portion himself with the guys.
In the end they cleaned everything and left the driveway cleaner than when they started.
I absolutely recommend this company and when the rest of the roof needs to be done they have my business.
