Cabinetry & Millwork review in Toronto

We had a new door installed by Amberwood doors in 2012
It was beautiful an no complaints there.
IN 2021, they sent a flyer around offering refinishing, and since it had now been some time we thought it was a good idea. However, the subcontractor didn't do a good job and the finish looked terrible after one season. I am happy to report that Amberwood took our door away again and refinished with no further charge and now it looks as good as new- happy to have it back to how it looked when we first got it installed and with their willingness to fix the problem.
Many of my neighbours have had Amberwood custom doors installed at my recommendation, they are great for older houses where a standard door might not fit. I highly recommend them.

Very poor door refinishing refinishing

We had a new door installed by Amberwood doors in 2012
It was beautiful an no complaints there.
IN 2021, they sent a flyer around offering refinishing, and since it had now been some time we thought it was a good idea. They sent someone to takeoff our door, redo the stain and put it back- it took two weeks
However, something was wrong with the finishing- it looks like they redid the stain and forgot the protective coat... within one season it was completely ruined- it looks worse that before they started....after numerous requests to come back and fix it they stopped answering my emails. They use a subcontractor wood door revival-but ultimately it was done through their service and they had told me Alex would come back and fix it. So I hold them responsible. Very sad everytime I come home and look at my ruined door. Top photo is the refinished job 2022; Bottom is how it looked before they took it away to refinish in 2021; middle is the original new door in 2012.Anyone know a company that can refinish- it was a very expensive door $9000 to install back in 2012.
