Cut a couple of limbs, remove dead wood and trim canopy

I chose Viking tree service because Eric gave me a detailed description of what he was planning to do. He was professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the end result. He arrived late and the job was rushed and not done to my satisfaction. He spent a lot of effort on one side of the tree but not on the other half. I was expecting a lot more trimming throughout the canopy based on the high estimate and the price quoted. A large storm window was broken by a cut swinging branch on the way down. Not happy!!!!

Approximate cost of services:
$2,600.00

Company Response

Dear Kamal,

That is a much different perspective than you shared with me at the time we performed and completed,  to your expressed satisfaction, the work.

Had there been issue, even upon reflection  over passing time, I woukd have thought that you would express it to me first to give me opportunity to reasonably satisfy our contract.

Would you be so generous as to give us the chance to address your concerns this coming week? Hopefully we can change your mind about us.

I will point out that the north part of the tree's canopy was not cleared of sucker growth to the height of the roof's peak as we discussed and was stated in writing. I saw that as we were leaving.
however, despite not commencing until nearly noon we were able to complete 95% of the work as well as do extra work on the neighbouring elm tree at the back and climb it twice to make sure you were completely satisfied. Albeit that turned out to be unnecessary as the big branch the second climb was for was kept by you for shade.
Upon departure there was plenty of time remaining in the day to revisit the tree and clear away the small branches close to the ground that we missed.
the time spent in the north half of the tree was considerable and was no more or less than required to perform the contracted work.
the South side of the tree had more deadwood and had two large limbs, in close proximity to the neighbours roof, to be carefully removed.

Please allow us the chance to make this right?

Thank you.

P.S. "..I expected a lot more trimming throughout the the canopy.."
Kamal, as I explained in detail at the time of meeting with you to provide the quote.
Good arboricultural practice is to not remove live wood from an oak unless absolutely necessary. This is because the oak is slow growing and produces and has fewer twigs, from which many leaves grow. Oak is a 'high performance' tree. I agreed to remove some of the sucker growth in the main union at 3 metres elevation to provide light.
A large picture window? a back porch window broke. I did that. And your wife was overjoyed as she had always wanted a window that opens at that location. we discussed it at length, found a contractor to to install a window matching the style of your house and I paid the cost of replacement of what you lost. We parted on a positive note.
I replied and asked how I could remedy your expressed dissatisfaction. You did not reply to that. I think maybe you are being less than fair.
Your friend, Erik.
