Incompetent Firm. Terrible Customer Service.

In late 2019, I hired Grossi Plumbing & Heating to install a new Bosch dishwasher. My invoice expressly states, “install customer supplied dishwasher... as per customer request”. It does not state, “provide plumbing connection only”.

Two technicians took HOURS. And - get this - a plumbing connection was already in-place from an older dishwasher the technicians removed. Worse still, they finished the job without securing the dishwasher to the Formica countertop or to the sidewalls of the cabinets. The first time I opened the dishwasher door, the entire unit tipped forward.

I then met with two Grossi managers. They agreed there was a problem.

Here’s what’s unbelievable... When a technician returned, he attached the dishwasher to the particleboard underside of the Formica countertop with two, quarter-inch screws. Yes, quarter-inch screws into particleboard. Not surprisingly, after a few months of opening the dishwasher door, the screws pulled out.

Subsequently, I again met with a Grossi manager. The response? To my astonishment, nothing more would be done. I then requested that my complaint be elevated to one of Grossi’s owners. I was told, yes, this would be done. Months later, the meeting never materialized. Did I receive a phone call about a delay in the meeting, or when it might take place? No.

On August 31, 2020 - nine months after the initial “installation” - I returned to Grossi. Management committed, again, to arrange a meeting with one of Grossi’s owners.

Sorry... There’s one thing I am not: A sucker. I informed management that enough is enough.

For more than a month, I picketed outside outside of Grossi Plumbing. Click on the thumbnail below for a full view of my picket. Perhaps a public shaming will affect Grossi’s take-the-money-and-run behaviour.

The video on YouTube shows the “installation” I was left with. For this, I paid HUNDREDS of dollars. (No, I have not been offered a refund.)

Finally, thanks to all who honked their horns, waved, or gave me the “thumbs up” when they drove by my picket. Apparently, I am not the only one Grossi has taken to the cleaners.
