UA Upholstery Arts Inc - No longer in business

UA is bankrupt. Campbell Saunders Ltd. has been appointed as receiver: see http://www.maynards.com/liquidations/retail/view_all_current/upholstery_arts. Maynards Auction has been appointed to liquidate UA's assets. It looks like Maynards is selling off UA couches, chairs, etc., through its liquidation center in Coquitlam...maybe I should go there and see if I can find my furniture...that I paid for and never received. To all of you in the same boat as me, contact Campell Saunders Ltd., fill out a proof of claim form, and get behind what is likely a long line of creditors (including a long line of secured creditors, which we are not.) Good luck!

We ordered a couch and ottoman back in March '10. After *many* delays we finally got it in mid-October. I see now from other comments that UA is no more. Guess we are fortunate... though we never did get our Diamond Kote warranty.

We are also waiting on a sofa to be delivered. We were charged the full amount in July and Len continued to assure us it was on the way. The last we heard was that it was going to be delivered November 9th. That date came and went and now I can't get a hold of anyone at the company. Their voicemail is full and emails are being returned. Anyone know what's going on? Is it possible to get my money back?

Liz, I am also waiting for a sofa that was to be delivered in July. UA charged the full price to my credit card (the full amount is only due on delivery) in July but I had Visa reverse that charge in August. Len promised delivery twice and if when he rarely returned phone calls he had excuses for the lengthy delay but no sofa. I saw a post on another review site which said UA has gone into recievership but I have not been able to find anything else. I suggest checking the store windows for postings by a Reciever in bankruptcy for more information. If anyone has any further information, please advise.

Does anyone know what is happening? The doors of the store at 7th and Burrard are shut, and no one at Upholstery Arts is responding, by telephone or email. We have been trying without success to arrange for delivery of our custom ordered sofa.

Bought two sectional sofas and both had flaws with cushions or fabric on cushions. I asked for help 5 times and not once did they follow up. The response was 'we will get to you when we get to you.' Sent pictures and even contacted the owner - nobody would even respond. Crazy! Really wish I would have questioned their lifetime warranty. Really wish I would have spent my hard-earned money somewhere else. Lesson learned! Be forewarned - after sale customer service at UA is non-existent.

The staff at Upholstery Arts are helpful and knowledgable. They made sure my purchase fit my requirements, tastes, and budget. The furniture designs and fabrics are beautiful. I would definitely recommend UA to anyone looking for upholstered furniture!
