The Handyman Dan

Quick and knowledgeable. Very personable. We had a few odd jobs. Some needed repairing and some we just needed an informed opinion. I'm a fan of Dan and would recommend him to friends and family.

In Feb 2011 we hired The Handyman Dan for several jobs in our house that included to replace Bathrooms fan, replace Bathrooms sink with faucet, replace Kitchen sink with faucet, remove old mirror and prepare wall for new mirror in one bathroom, fixed moving hardwood floor in one bedroom. Frank did awesome job, he is very friendly and professional also the price for this job is very reasonable compare to other handyman service, no doubt that we will continue to call Handyman Dan for all jobs in the future. They are A+++++++.

Dan came in and listened to our needs and gave us options. He recognized that we wanted a comfortable basement to enjoy without spending $20,000.00

He laid a new floor, hung new doors, removed and replaced damaged drywall, installed a walk-up bar with cabinetry and backsplash, and created a beautiful wainscoting look to the lower half of the walls.

When we had unexpected electrical issues, he worked with our electrican to come up with a solution to save us money. When I mentioned that I was considering more extensive work in another room, he reminded me that I shouldn't go over budget and that I can always have a "phase 2" to the project.

Dan was always profesional, courteous and reliable. He made sure that we understood what he was doing and why.

I'm still in awe every time I go downstairs and consider myself fortunate that I came to find Dan on this website.

Dan, thank you so much for coming right over to help secure my wood fence that was damaged after the strong winds we had in Toronto this weekend. It was an urgent repair, as it was ready to fall into our small parking lot, and I needed it fixed before cars were parked there again, as I didnt want the fence to fall and damage anyone's vehicles.

I called you for the first time this Sunday at 12:45pm,and you were at my house at 2pm as promised, just 75 minutes after receiving my call. I couldn't believe it. Thanks for helping me, instead of doing your own property repairs that you had planned for the afternoon.

You not only fixed the fence as best as possible on this cold winter day (until the ground thaws this Spring and we can replace the fence posts), but you also re-secured some eavestroughing that was blown loose.

On top of all that, you even helped my neighbour rescue a pigeon that flew into his property accidentally by carrying the bird out of his office with your hands and placing him safely in a box for us to release him back to his awaiting flock.

I hope to work with you again. Reasonable rates, willing to fix a small but very urgent job (on a long-weekend), reliable, friendly & helpful. I will try my best to book you in advance next time.

We hired The Handyman Dan (specifically Frank and Dan's son Chris) to do about 25 jobs around our house that we had just bought and had been recently renovated. The previous owners didn't finish all the jobs and there were some poorly completed aspects of the project. On a very short time line these guys got everything done and helped out with everything we needed to get done before we moved in. We even had some other trades working in the house at the same time and Frank and Dan were invaluable in helping the other trades out as well. The work ranged from: prepping walls for tiling, building and installing closet organizers, shelving (both custom and store bought), repairing trim work to plumbing installation. There is no doubt that we will continue to call and count on these guys for all jobs (not just the small ones) for our family in the future. They are A+++++++

When speaking about the job initally over the phone I was impressed by Dan's troubleshooting and ability to scope the job. When actually doing the work, he was thorough, clean and took the time to explain things. Safety and accuracy always seemed top of mind.

Dan quoted the exact amount of time that it would take to get the job done, he explained the process and steps he would take. He was professional, did a great job and I've already recommended him to friends and family.

Dan took the time to explain his approach in great detail, which gave me the confidence that he knew the trade. So it as no surprise when he began executing the work with a great deal of attention to every detail. The final result was impeccable finishes (the kind you'd get only in high-end stores). I wholeheartedly recommend Dan!

Dan is a true professional. The job took exactly as long as he said it would. He made the banister and completed a list of other odd jobs: tile replacements, plaster patches. Great to work with.

We hired Dan to figure out why there was no heat coming into the nursery. Frank showed up on time, went straight to work to figure out the problem. He checked our ducts, fixed all our vents, taped up our furnace, and gave us a little lesson on heating. And now our house is toasty warm. Thanks Dan and team!
