CRT monitor repair

I have a Mag CRT monitor. I've had it for about 15 years. I prefer the old CRT monitors to LED monitors. The colour is truer, the contreast is better, and they can be viewed at any angle. The problem is that no one, to my knowledge, manufactures them anymore. When the colour on mine suddenly turned all green, it appeared it was time for a new monitor, so I bought an LED. Mistake! After a few days it was clear that this LED was vastly inferior to my old CRT. I then found Rosebud Technologies that advertised repair of CRTs. They were the only company I could find that still offered service for CRTs. I brought it in for repair and within two days my trusty old CRT was up and running again. THANK YOU ROSEBUD for a job well done!

Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner

I damaged the USB printer port, making the scanner useless. Roman at Rosebud replaced the port the same day I took it in! Great service. And, fyi, he first checked the unit for remaining service life before repairing it - great customer service.

Samsung scanner/printer repair

My Samsung laser printer/scanner became inoperative. The scanner reader head broke. Rosebud fixed it at a good price. I was given tip on how to economically buy toner in the future. How to read the system file and set the date and time. After the service I had a cabling problem that Rosebud helped me out with.

Home theater projector fix

My BenQ projector started showing white spots, ruining the picture. Turns out it is dust on the chip. I researched fixes on Youtube and ordered parts based on the model number. However, the chip that arrived was not the correct one. I also bent the control board while trying to do the home repair. My cheap fix was not a solution and caused more problems. Roman at Rosebud was quickly able to diagnose the projector's issues. He was able to order the correct parts and get the projector working again like new at a reasonable price. A much better solution than just throwing the thing out in landfill or even trying to recycle. Thanks.

Burnt out monitor fixed quickly. Courteous service. Reasonable price.

My Acer monitor had burnt out. I didn't want to throw it out and buy a new one. I found Rosebud Technologies on Kijiji and decided to try them even though their Markham location meant a bit of a drive from my Toronto home. So glad I did! I was impressed with how courteous the technician/owner? was (sorry I didn't get his name).
The Kijiji ad had promised to fix monitors while you wait. However when the tech realized that he wasn't able to do the fix and properly test it before closing time, he was very apologetic. He had tried his best and I appreciated that. I will gladly recommend Rosebud to anyone.

Monitor Repair

I contacted Roman through email to get a quote on an Acer A231HL monitor which had 2 blown capacitors on the inverter board. Roman responded quickly and was able to give me a price and answer any questions I had about his service or the repair process. When I dropped the monitor off he told me what he would be doing as well as type of capacitors he would be replacing the bad ones with. The job was done in less than a half-hour and he was nothing but professional the whole way through. The price was $28.25 with taxes and a 30 day warranty. I have zero complaints about his service and would recommend it to anyone.

Dell LCD Monitor Repair

I have a very expensive 30 inch Dell LCD monitor that recently just went "black" on the screen for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Prior to the screen dying, it was working just fine as expected. It suddenly flashed a few horizontal lines and then was kaput. I could see the power was on, and when I turned off all the lights in the room I could see that the monitor was still "lit".

After some googling I found some people suggested it may have some bad capacitors some where and then my search began for a place to repair my monitor.

I found Roman through an online advertisement for LCD monitor repairs.

Roman was FAST to reply to my email, and although I had many questions for him he answered all my concerns.

I also gave him a quick call as I wanted to clarify a few things and he was very open to speaking to me on the phone.

He provides free estimates, which really helped persuade me to go and let him have a look.

I promptly brought it in, and the next day he informs me its actually not the capacitors but is some sort of board in the LCD and he could source a part to fix it for only $50 ish dollars.

I obviously did not want to spend a few hundred buying a new LCD when I had a perfectly wonderful one already, so I gladly told him to go ahead and fix it.

I picked up the monitor a week later, and its been over 2 months and no issues. The monitor works exactly as expected.

Roman is a life saver, if not for him I would not have been able to fix this monitor on my own.

I would absolutely recommend him, and he also does many other types of electronic repairs (for example projectors, TV's, printers and so forth)
