Rock Bar Construction

Beware. Alex told me to post this and that I would be laughed at and I'll let you be the judge of that. He spoke down to me, he spoke over me, and he refused to make things right, even after I paid in full. I would never want clients to be treated this way.

I'll start with the Good. The workers were pleasant, efficient, respectful, and took off their shoes before entering home. I think they changed the lead pipe out properly but I have no way of judging that myself. That's about as good as it got.

Now, the Bad. Communication was lacking. They didn't announce themselves when they arrived. They didn't inform me when I could use the water again. They also didn't let me know when they were done.

First thing in the morning, my parents brought them coffee and Timbits as a nice gesture and they just buried the garbage under the asphalt. You wouldn't believe me if I didn't have it on video which I've uploaded to their photo album on Google because I can't attach it to this post.

Even though there was a light drizzle that morning, they decided to continue the work and then left a mess on driveway and walkway up to house. They left the site muddy with rocks all over the place. They could've at least quickly hosed the driveway down before leaving.

Worst of all, they didn't put the driveway back, leaving a portion of asphalt jutting up by about 2 inches which I worry is a tripping hazard for my parents. If you saw it in person, you'd agree that it's not going to settle like they said it will. According to Alex, they did us "a favor" by putting the asphalt back over the work area because apparently the contract says that's not their responsibility. They also scratched the driveway with their backhoe outside of work area.

I'm a reasonable person and I tried to work this out with Sharon and I even requested a call from the owner who is Alex's dad. It's been over a month and I don't think they intend to make things right. The least they could do is come back and compact the asphalt down flush with the rest of the driveway.

Long story short, for only a couple hundred dollars more, we should've gone with another company that had better reviews.

I had this crew do a lead pipe water main replacement and as well added a secondary sewer hookup for a future project. Their friendly crew showed up time and had the work finished in a timely manner. The disruption to the site was minimal for the amount of excavation they did and all soil was replaced and compacted.
From their initial sales person (Mike) site visit to their office administrator Sharron, all very pleasant to deal with.

Would I use them again, Yes, I have no reason not to use them again.
