Moving

They are the worst movers, don't hire them! Not only did they arrive late but they took their sweet time doing the move. I understand you are tired but don't overbook yourself and take a bunch of breaks on my dime! So basically I was paying extra money for the hour because they worked too slow. Not only that the foreman had a major attitude! He was so rude to us. He was horrible in explaining anything perhaps did that on purpose so he can overcharge us! He said packing fragile furniture will be $10 but it turns out to be more than that because they didn't mention the price of the bubble wrap! They like to give you half a story so they can swindle you. Good thing we stopped them right away and didn't let them pack a bunch of the furniture. They really price gouged us and they didn't finish the job and had to come back again. We paid over $2000 to move!

North York moving

It took $800, two inexperienced movers With one dolly (who usesd our better dolly most of the time) to move a 600 square-foot apartment that was ready to move. No couches no beds. We were told $55hr +mileage +fuel and an hour to load truck before and after.
TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS was added to my bill for a truck admin fee AFTER THE FACT! No one told me or put it in my final confirmation.
They also believe a "deposit" is a downpayment. Be careful dealing with these people. They are scheemy!'

Moving & storage

Arranged to move my daughters bedroom furniture from Waterloo to Toronto. Sales staff Joulanne B (i think owners wife) was charming and offered spring special with flat rate travel time. Contract price $587. Put $1900 on my credit card. I have been unable to speak to anybody in the company after at least 8 emails and several phone calls. I have handed matter over to BBB to try and resolve.

Terrible service, arrived late, damage furniture, lack of tools, inexperienced movers, substantially overcharged and won't return calls or provide information to address damages. Now filing a complaint with BBB, Consumer Protection and will take legal action if required

Big move

We recently had an amazing move (as amazing as moves get, of course) with North York Moving. Jasser called me before they arrived, and we were able to start a bit earlier. Despite some issues with the parking permit we had secured for their truck with the city (some people can't read and parked in the loading zone anyway), they were wrapping and packing everything in no time. We were moving from a 3br apartment on a second floor, to a two-level townhome with a long walkway. A difficult move, and on hindsight, we would have probably hired more than 2 movers as it took about 5 hours of non-stop work.
Despite the challenges, they were professional, friendly, and worked literally non-stop to get us into our new place! We were very impressed by North York Moving and Storage’s booking process, the truck which seemed new, and the uniforms. Nothing broken or damaged during our move, not even a glass. Amazing!
Tip:
-Make sure you're all packed, organized and ready to go, your boxes labeled. This helped us a lot - otherwise we would have taken longer than 8 hours.
-Get third party insurance for peace of mind on expensive items.
-Get rooms "cleared" during the move so you can do in-depth cleaning while North York Moving does the heavy lifting.
Highly recommended.

moving to townhouse

First of all, from the moment I called Jasser, he was professional, courteous and thorough when describing the details of the costs. So we were estimated for a 1 bedroom apartment moving about 15 miles to a 3 bedroom town home, an estimated of 4 hours. They showed up about 9am and the mover went through a few more details and paper work.. They were all nice and made sure his helpers wrapped and double wrapped delicate items like the TVs and washer and dryer etc. One helper seemed to be new to the job which seemed to stress the others out a bit but he kept his composer and hustled his team.
When the team and my husband got to the new house ( I left and took my son to my nieces birthday party, yah for me) the move got a little complicated because the parking situation and our new layout. We moved into a home with 4 flights of stairs. They just charge by the hour, so if you are moving into a townhome with lots of stairs than request an extra man as this would def get the move going a little quicker. My husband stepped in to help in the end as the move ended up going to around 4pm. I don't think they anticipated it to take that long but overall we were really happy the move happened in a few hours and not a few days, ahem family! Everything was in tact and no walls or carpets were sacrificed in the process.
Our experience was overall pretty good and would recommend others to try them out.

Brooklyn to Toronto

These guys are great. I moved to Toronto from Brooklyn and drove my stuff up myself, but wanted to get someone else to move it in for me.
I horribly underestimated how much time it was going to take me to drive, and had an appointment to meet the guys at my apartment at 4pm. At 3:30 I was somewhere out in Buffalo on the turnpike and knew there was no way I was going to be in Toronto at 4pm so I called the company and told them what was up. The movers had another appointment at 6pm, so I panicked a little before mentioning that I couldn't bring all of my stuff anyway so it probably wouldn't take that long to unload.

I would not have blamed them for leaving because I finally showed up at 5:45pm!!! and they stuck around!!!! I couldn't believe it. They managed to speak to the next appointment who was cool with a slight delay, but luckily it didn't take them very long to move my stuff into the apartment and I think they made it to their next job pretty much on time.

The person I spoke to on the phone wasn't even going to charge me for the entire appointment, even though I'm sure I am their nightmare type of client.

They moved all of my stuff quickly and efficiently without damaging anything. So if/when I plan my next move, I will definitely be calling them again.

Apartment Move

I have never been compelled to write a review for anything, but these guys were so nice that I decided to register in order to write a review for them!
I spoke on the phone to Jaser, who was extremely professional and nice, offered to send his team to my apartment right away, in order to give me an estimate. There were no other hidden fees at the end of my move, so his estimate was exactly accurate. We scheduled the move for 9am. On the day of my move, the crew were outside my apartment with all their equipment already in the hallway, waiting for it to be exactly 9am to ring my doorbell. They were extremely efficient, handled everything with care, helped me pack a few extra items that I didn't know how to pack, took apart my bed frame which couldn't go through the door and even brought the food from my refrigerator without breaking an egg. They put everything back together at my new place, arranged the large furniture pieces so I wouldn't have to move them later, and were completely done with everything in less than 4 hours. I am extremely happy with my move, couldn't have asked for anything more, I recommend them very highly and will definitely use them for my next move!

relocation to house

This was my first time hiring movers, so I was hesitant. But after thorough research I chose North York Moving and I'm glad I did!

They were incredibly nice, friendly and professional. They showed up on time, brought wardrobe boxes, wrapped up our television and treated all of our belongings as if they were their own. Our move took a little longer than we all expected - even with the nonstop help of my boyfriend and me - but it was still really fast and actually (I can't believe I'm saying this) kind of fun! There were no hidden or extra costs just as they promised and they stayed true to their original quote, which they had emailed me confirmation of in writing well beforehand. They even gave me a lift to the new place.

Unfortunately a piece of a special item of mine got accidentally broken off on the load out. I know it was a pure accident (it wasn't dropped or anything) and David felt so authentically horrible he immediately offered to weld it for me or to take some money off our bill. We opted for the latter. Even though it was clearly a professionally handled mishap, I am deducting a fraction of a star because this is one of my most prized possessions and it looks like simple welding will not repair it. I wish it had been wrapped first.

Despite this, I definitely and highly recommend North York Moving! They're fast, efficient and competitively priced. I would happily hire them again for future moves in a heartbeat. Thanks guys!
