Environmentally Safe Salt alternative

I took an ad to Home Depot from a magazine that I had that advertised an environmentally safe salt alternative to make my walkways safer in the winter. The salesman was soooo rude. He kept walking by and saying in a minute. 20 minutes later I got fed up and used the phone (which I don't think is for customers) and dialed the "outdoor" sales no. as noted on the auto dial key. Guess who answered. He told me to wait again. By now there were 10 other folks waiting to be helped too! All he was doing was moving boxes around. All I needed was directions so I could find the product. He then told me over the phone that I should just stick to salt. One person changing to this stuff wouldn't make a difference to the environment!! Sooooo Rude!!! I went elsewhere to purchase the product and haven't bought anything at Home Depot since!

Laundry room renvoation

The folks at home depot were extremely knowledgable and friendly. When I went to them to ask questions about my project, they took the time to answer questions, make recommendations, and really got to know the job. Great experience!

Painting

Usually use Finer Edge for painting but thought I'd try Home Depot. The contractor they used arrived late.. took forever, made a mess and didn't finish. I emailed several times to get it finished but it never did get finished. I finally did it myself. And had to re-do some of what they did myself as well. And had to paint over their splatters. Wouldn't use Home Depot ever again.

2 new tiolets

we went to the Home Depot to replace 2 of our toilets becasue we saw an advertisment that stated if toilets were purchased on a specific day the $60 rebate from the city would be applied at time of purchase. The people from the city were very knowlegeable and helpful and we decided to go ahead. Unfortunately there was a long wait for and little help from the home depot staff. the two toilets that we wanted were sold out and nobody was willing to check other stores for availability. We finally went back to speak with the city staff and they are the ones that help us make an alternative selection. Home Depot employees were all but useless. I would think that with [another company] advertising how helpful they are Home Depot would take notes and make a better effort

window coverings, painting, pedestals for dispay purposes, screen doors and many odds and ends to help update our house.

When it comes time to update, or replace items in our home, I first visit Home Depot. The selection is fabulous and the help is superb. I also know that I'm getting a quality product, that will be installed by professionals, serviced properly and the warranty will be honoured without a fuss. In all, the experience is stress free and it makes my life run more smoothly.

Sometimes I'm in for a small item and I'm not sure what section to find it in. I wander if a self help computer screen could be set up to point me in the right direction.

Overall

This becomes my new playground. First time I've been in a big Home Depot and I knew I'd be back here often as I am a curious, do-it-yourself kind of girl. I like the fact that they have a lot of options for different projects. You can reallly choose! Then, they have the cutting machine and their reps will cut your woods to size so you don't have to... you just have to install it piece by piece on your project. Although, I must say that they need to be really precise.. coz when I say 23 1/2, I meant 23 1/2. But I find their people generally knowledgeable and helpful, professional and they make you feel good about yourself for trying to do projects on your own. No one's trying to make a sale as if their life depend on it which made me comfortable. Pretty much, you can find everything that you need to make your home a
great place to be. Also, I was so relieved that they do have machines for rent as we needed a buffing machine and didn't know where to find one. I am so happy that Home Depot had answers for my needs.Salut!

plumbing repairs and installation

Home Depot is a great store if you know what you want and go directly to purchase The self serve cashier system is expedient and fast. The biggest problem is a terrible shortage of knowledgable floor staff Ive waited as long as 25 to 30 minutes to be serviced and this is endemic in most Home Depot stores this has happened many times , the last time being Oct 3rd needing plumbing supplies and not knowing for sure what I needed finally someone came to serve me didnt know the answer and had to wait another 10 minutes till he found someone who was knowledgable enough to assist me I had also purchased some bi fold doors and needed cord to tie it to my roof racks, the bin was empty and waited a further 15 minutes after 3 calls from the cashier for assistance
