A/C unit and Gas line for BBQ

In Aug 2007 we installed an A/C unit in our new home. We called heating plus since they also offered free duct cleaning with an A/C installation. They came quickly and installed our A/C and the technicians including Paul were very polite and courteous. And at that time if you asked me if I was happy I would say Yes. In June 2008 when we attempted to open the A/C it worked but did not blow out cold air. We called them a few times and finally a technician came out and said it was a leak in the Freon. He refilled the Freon and soldered the joints. At that point I was still happy since the rectified the problem. A few weeks ago I get back from vacation and turn on my A/C. Once again it didn't work I left heating plus a message. Their voicemail said they would call within 48hrs. I called them on 3 separate occasions over the week and my wife called once and nobody called me back. I called one more time and someone actually picked up I explained the situation and she said someone would call me back to set up a time for the technician to come. Guess what nobody called me back its been over a week. I left a few more messages and nobody responded. I finally gave up and called Goodman Canada who sent a technician the same day. They said it was a faulty fitting that took him two seconds to fix. He explained that maybe heating plus was not aware of the defect of the fitting and didn't want to check the full a/c for the leak as it can take time. I not here to bash anyone. I just hear to say if your looking for a company that's reliable and comes to help you when something is not working heating plus is not for you. BTW who ever runs answer there phones should take a lesson in customer service

Approximate cost of services:
$2,000.00

Company Response

[Name removed - ed] you are an @$###***!, If the problem was a faulty fitting that goodman installed on their units( Goodman is aware that the valves that were installed on the 2007 A/C units were faulty!, that's why they are fixing and or replacing them without admitting fault) so don't blame Heating Plus or me for Goodmans faulty units, Heating Plus by my understanding has been sold to a company called Direct Heating and Air as of July 1st (I used to work for them and installed your unit in eagle hills your last name is [name removed - ed] if I remember correct, that's why your comments piss me off) It sounds like your being a cry baby if the unit was fixed for free both times shut your mouth and consider yourself lucky!, Wow this site HOMESTARS is really turning into nothing more than a low class chat line for people to complain over nothing! and for people who have nothing better to do such as yourself, GROW UP!,I've heard through some other sources that if you have a preminium listing with homestars than they will fix (delete any really bad reviews) see for yourself, It's all about the money at Homestars! I wonder if they will delete this comment or let me voice my opion without being deleted so that any one reading might not be fooled by the ratings at homestars!

I agree with the last poster if this guy Tony got his A/C repaired for free what's his problem, I had a problem with an Goodman A/C leaking it turned out to be a problem on Goodmans side, and was covered under warranty. I wonder what this guy would do if he had a bigger problem in life?

ANNA in Toronto Writes:

I had an A/C installed by Heating Plus and was quite happy with the installation I found them to always be their if I needed them, I would recommend them to anyone.

Serge in Toronto writes:

I agree with Anna when I worked for them the jobs were 110% correct like i state in my post above Tony is crying over nothing and needs to get a life!

Goodman Air Conditioning units installed in 2007 and 2008 were sold with cheap leaking valves, Goodman is replacing these valves under warranty but without going public with the recall, so the poster is correct, 2009 units I think have had the valve problem corrected

I'm starting to think that Homestars is a Cashgrab for contractors and a cheap version of Angies list in the USA, a listed Painting Contractor told me that as long as you pay you can keep your record clean

Serge in Toronto writes:

So true, the companies on this site that you have to watch out for are the companies with scores of 10, Homestars lets these contractors write their own reviews and submitt them on behalf of so called customers.

I didn't know that, I knew that all you needed to do was post from a different IP address, so where's the homeowners protection I guess they worry about their pocket more
