Moving

We had been in search of a responsible moving company for some time before coming across Great Canadian Van Lines. We were scheduled to move in July and were concerned that it was high season and the prices would be a lot higher. Mark from GCVL returned my call on the same business day and he provided an estimate over the phone, which seemed to be better and more detailed then the others we received. He also was able to provide moving and packing tips, to help us be prepared and save time and therefore more money. I don't usually do online reviews however it was an all-round great experience and job well done. The movers that were assigned to our move were respectful, careful and worked hard to get the job done. They went out of there way to ensure that our belongings were safely packed and stored and placed on the truck. They seemed to be extremely organized as they managed to put everything in the right rooms once they arrived at our new destination and reassemble some of our bedroom furniture quickly, making a lot less work for me and my wife. I highly recommend GCVL and will use them again

Moving

Great Canadian Van Lines packed up our storage container in Vancouver, and moved us to our new home in Toronto. Dan called regularly with updates, and he arrived with the van exactly when he said he would.

Move from BC to Alberta

Great experience with Great Canadian Van Lines. From the initial quote to confirming the move details they stayed in contact and kept me up to date on everything. The movers were professional and very efficient. My belongings were delivered within a couple days and again they always kept in touch to let me know what was happening. Very happy.

Move from Toronto to Vancouver

We are in the middle of our move.

The on-site movers were on-time, professional and courteous.

At first, we were dissastisfied with the administrative folks. We were concerned about an overall lack of responsiveness and a change to our moving date. However, after we escalated our concerns, we were pleased to have a very friendly customer service person (Laurie) work with us to resolve the situation to our satisfaction.

Overall - worth considering.

"I'm thrilled that you have a Facebook page so that I can leave this message for y'all! I just used GCVL to move from Burnaby, B.C. to London, Ontario. I was so nervous about moving as I had a dreadful experience with another moving company recently. I dealt mostly with Rick, who is very professional and pleasant to deal with, and then the driver who drove my belongings to Ontario was Daniel! I can't fully express how happy I am with this move. I have not completely unpacked yet but all boxes are opened so I could have a peek and NOTHING is broken or out of place. It was such a pleasure to deal with Daniel and see his smiling face when he arrived in London. The guy is a gem and he has a heart of gold! Thanks so much again for taking such great care with my belongings! The next time I move, I know who to call! "

Long Distance Move from Vancouver, BC to Winnipeg, MB

Attention Mr. Mark Valliant:

My family moved this summer from Vancouver, BC to Winnipeg, MB with Great Canadian Van Lines. This was our third move in two years as we had to travel for my wife’s job. For our first two moves, we had hired the two big names in the moving industry. We were very disappointed by both companies as they failed to provide us with the service we had hired them to provide. Their level of incompetence was so bad that I felt obligated to write the CEO’s of both companies to inform them of the poor service they had provided us. Without going into too much detail, company 2 was 18 days beyond the quoted delivery spread with my wife being 6 months pregnant at the time. She spent close to 6 weeks sleeping on an air mattress. They also managed to “loose” our 42” plasma TV.
The reason that I am writing you today is not to complain like I was forced to do in the past, but to congratulate you and your company on doing a fantastic job. As our previous two moves went so poorly, I was dreading having to move again. While searching for a company to move us from Vancouver to Winnipeg, Great Canadian Van Lines was recommended to us by our tenants who were renting our home in Winnipeg at the time. They had moved from Vancouver to Winnipeg with Great Canadian and had very positive things to say about their experience. With my faith in the moving industry completely shattered, I decided to take their advice and give Great Canadian Van Lines a chance. To my pleasant surprise, Great Canadian not only met my expectations, but blew them out of the water.
With Great Canadian, it was refreshing to see a team of professionals working together as opposed to your competitors who displayed nothing but professional incompetence. The gentlemen that packed our belongings took great care in making sure our possessions were protected and packed safely. Amar was our driver and he was very professional on both ends as well.
In conclusion, I just wanted to take the time to let you know what a great job you and your employees have done to make our recent move as stress free as possible. Great Canadian Van Lines will be our first choice if we ever need to move again and I will be sure to recommend your moving company to colleagues and friends for their moving needs. I thank you and your employees for taking pride in your work. The difference was night and day, and as a customer I have noticed.

Regards,

Kevin

Company Response

Kevin,

Once again thank you for taking the time to write this great letter. I have passed it along to all of the crews involved. Amar is in Vancouver this week and I made sure he got a copy of your letter as well.

All the best to you and your family in Winnipeg.

Mark
