I was very happy with the services of George Kent Home Improvements. The salesperson was friendly, professional and very knowledgable. The product was delivered on time and installed in a very professional manner. While it was not the cheapest quote I received, I know from experience that the cheapest is not always the best way to go. I am happy that I decided to go for a quality product at a fair price. The way the whole job was handled was excellent from beginning to end, and I also have the peace of mind that comes with the extensive warranty. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Great price, great service and all done on time and budget. Customer service follow up was amazing and very well timed. Would recommend to anyone needing new windows or doors.

I had my windows replaced by George Kent Home Improvements 3 years ago, I found the Sales person exceptional, the installers respectful and skilled and the overall service provided by the company was exceptional.

Called George Kent from a referral from a co-worker who had a bunch of work done by them and raved about the whole experience.

I have to agree this is a very professional company. Tthey really made my door decision easier by taking a digital picture of my home and then showing me all the glass choices and colors possible. I could see the finished product on my house before making the decision.

The sales person, John also helped connect me with a furnace company so at the end I got back almost $5,000. in government rebates through the Eco Energy program.

Have already recommended them to two friends.

We found them to be very good to work with - they were on time and billed what we were quoted. We would be happy to use them again in the future.

after waiting 2 months the installers finally appeared to replace my sidings. within 10 minutes I had a call from the salesman telling me they wanted an additional $500 to do the work. reason given was that the soffits would have to be removed and replaced. I did not understand why as an installer had reviewed the site i month earlier and had not mentioned this problem. It then transbired that the salesman had ordered the wrong colour sidings. the installers left. a day later George Kent cancelled the job saying that I would not be satisfied with the work. I had to call twice to get my deposit back. I found another installer and the soffits did not have to be removed or replaced. I guess that the installers just did not want the job

Wrong style railings delivered and installed. We accepted though not what ordered. Window ordered and promises to have installer measure never came when promised. Left the house for one hour and called the office again to ask when he would come and they said that he had been and measured during the hour we were out. He would have had to climb a six foot high locked gate to get into back yard to measure.No marks in soil indicating anyone had used ladders. Measurement should be from inside because of flashing on old window would make it impossible to measure correctly between walls. When window arrived it was too small and was packed out to fit and hidden behind flashing. They claimed that was the way to install windows. Have had other windows installed but not like that. Complaints did not help. Checked with other companies and none used the same method. The latches on the windows were too tight. Adjusted them myself. Quarter round installed to hide gap prohibited us from reinstalling venetian blinds. A screw was set in the sill of the each of new windows and the heads protruded, one three-sixteenth of an inch, the other an eight of an inch. Still don't know why they were stuck in there except he feared the improperly installed window would fall out. No other new windows were installed so badly. Purchased two new fold down window winders at $25.00 and saw the same things in Rona for $12.00 a week later.
The storm door has screws which had missed the wood behind and second screw looking ugly were installed. The bell push button was not installed tightly. Screw not secured properly.
All complaints were dismissed and the female secretary claimed that Mr. Kent insisted that windows be installed the way the did. Frankly, I thought it was a cover up and I suspect Mr. Kent himself had not idea of the poor workmanship his company performed. I was never able to talk to him personally as he was "never in."
The only person I was happy with was the saleman and there is no doubt in my mind that the measurements for the window were the salesman's measurements for pricing. I am perfectly happy with windows installed by another company Dundas Windows and Doors on the Queensway. A far better company to deal with.

I was searching "Homestars" for a good plumber & thought I'd also write a review for another company who did work for us last year; George Kent. I was shocked to see this companies rating to be so very low! George Kent first worked on my parents home back in 1974, since then my parents had George Kent another 5 times, now there house is completed. When my wife & I needed to start thinking about our home after the baby arrived, my Mum insisted we call George Kent because of the great success they had with this company, 5 times!(she too has heard all the nightmare stories about home improvement companies & insisted we go with what has been proven & has stood the test of time) My dad insisted I deal with George Kent because of the great job he did on my parents home AND because Mr.Kent is a WW2 war Vet as is my dad. My parents salesman was no longer with GKHI, he had retired from there just the year before, but only after 37 years working for GKHI.
Our salesman was Glen Munroe, a very polite & informed man who didnt rush us or pressure us into signing a contract, but instead he invited us into his showroom to see more sample windows; Bay VS Bow. It was during our visit to the showroom that we first meet Mr.Kent in person, On a saturday! With respect I say Mr.Kent is not a young man but his attitude is young, humourous & pleasing. We ended up signing a contract with Mr.Munroe for just under $19,000.00
We had 2 crews at our home, Lonny, the window installer & his 2 helpers as well as the siding gentleman who didn't actually talk much but did a beautiful job on our home & did seem to be a nice man.
Both my wife & I have been so very happy & completely satisfied with GKHI that we have since referred him to 3 of our closest friends as well as referring him to one of my co-worlkers & one of my wifes co-workers & my wifes sister. Everybody we've referred them too has thanked us for it, for they too had a very successful transaction with the company.My sister in-laws job did take a bit longer to start then she was first told, however when she called to check on he job status she was explained to how the rainy weather had placed all the companies installs behind by a week or so. Something she understood & was fine with. Her job took 8 weeks from contract time to start & another 4 days to complete.I will quote her words; "I wasnt very happy when I was told it was going to take longer to start, but now I see the work Ive deen waiting for was well worth the wait" end quote.

2 months after we had the windows installed, one of the bathroom windows stopped locking with ease, it would still lock but only if you really pressured it to lock, something my wife cant do because she's too short to reach the lock & apply that kind of pressure. My wife called Kent & spoke with a lady named Maria, Maria was very helpful & seemed to sincerely care about our situation, despite it being a rather small issue. However 4 days later, lonny showed up & adjusted the lock which now works perfectly,,, again.
It is only after having first hand knowledge of George Kent starting back in 1974 that I feel so confident in referring his company & so very SHOCKED to read his homestars rating & I felt compelled, even "obligated" to contribute my 2 cents. Furthermore, Ive also seen another window company, (I will NOT name for I didnt personally deal with that company)and it was rated HIGHER then George Kent, yet I personally know of 2 pewople that have dealt with that other company & both were very unsatisfied & one even took the other company to court & won a full decission against them. So Im left asking myself' How could that other company rate so very high when George Kent rated so very low. SOMETHINGS WRONG IN DENMARK!
I'm left seriously wondering if I can trust what Plumber this site rates as the best???

The job was done professionally, on time and at a very reasonable price. Much more reasonable than any other quotes that I got some of which were double. I would recommend this company to everyone and am also considering future work done by them.
