Thank you, Karen, for contacting Gas Fix to service your Instaflame fireplace. The model that you have is a DV34RN and those units contain a Mercury Flame Switch, which is now an obsolete part. Contractors will tell you one of two things with this model: 1.) It can't be repaired and you need a new unit that will cost between $3000 to $5000 or 2.) It can be repaired and it will cost between $1000 to $1200. We are the contractor telling you that it can be repaired! We are very happy that you chose Gas Fix to upgrade the unit. As noted, Dwayne had both the gas valve and pilot assembly for the job already on his vehicle. As we specialize in the repair and maintenance of gas fireplaces, our technicians carry over 300 of the most common parts on their vehicles, such as the remote we also installed. We never tire from hearing how great a fireplace looks once our technician has given it a thorough cleaning.
