Delta does an analysis of your home - windows, insulation R-values, where the sun hits the house - in order to determine the size of unit best suited for the house. Not just a 'that looks like a 2.5 tonne unit' off-the-cuff response.
They proposed a number of solutions, both high-efficiency and non-high-efficiency units, they didn't push the more expensive units. Outlined each on the basis of their merits.
Installers took the time to do the job right - we had 3 people here for about 6 hours elapsed time. They were very professional, looked out for keeping the house clean. (Important as we're in a new subdivision with no grass yet!). When done, the team lead showed me everything they had done, and gave a summary of how to make sure the external unit is kept in good shape (e.g. what to do and what not to do over the winter).
And, there was a follow-up visit the day after the installation by the original rep who quoted us the unit. He looked at all the work, and took photos of one thing that wasn't done up to his expectations (just a cosmetic issue, not a functional issue).
We've used Delta before for both A/C and furnace work, and are pleased with their work, the units they install, and follow-up service.
They aren't the cheapest around, but they are reasonable. I don't mind paying a little extra for the quality of the work they do and their post-install service.
