On July 11/09 I attended at Cooksville Lumber, and bought 12 Sheets of Marine Plywood and water sealant to replace the 12 Sheets of Marine Plywood for my above ground swimming pool, which had been in use for 19 years without any significant signs of mold or wood rot.
After 2 years one of these sheets bowed out, I braced it in. After another 2 years 2 more boards bowed out.
After removing the liner from the boards , I discovered the reason for the boards bowing out..wood rot and mold. All the boards showed significant signs of wood rot and mold . I attended at Cooksville lumber on discovering these defects and asked for a representative of Cooksville Lumber to attend and investigate this premature wood rot. Mr. Carlos Rocha of Cooksville refused to attend stating it was the manufactuer problem not Cooksville. He offered abosulutely no help whatsoever. Cooksville Lumber then stated that I had used the wood outdoors in the elements, it never should have been used outdoors! (I couldn't believe what I was hearing and these people sell wood products!)
Cooksville Lumberwere unable to provide the name of their supplier for 13 months after receiving my complaint and after I launched a civil court action in Small Claims Court!
The Manufactuer hat they supplied to me was a company that went out of business in 2011. The invoice supplied by a representative of this defunct company could not be verified by a simple test.
The case is presently before Small Claims Court.
