95 year old mother was solicited by this company to clean furnace. Upon arriving checked furnace and diagnosed faulty gas control valve and intermittent firing of furnace, also said gas shutoff to furnace leaking. Used vacuum hose to clean forced air heating ducts. This same company cleaned heating ducts previously 6 months ago. I tested for gas leak at shutoff and found no leak evident. My understanding is that licensed gas fitters are obligated to 'red flag' a furnace unit that is leaking gas - no red tag was evident on or near furnace. This company replaced the furnace motor on their previous call to 'clean the heating ducts' and charged my mother over $500.00 for parts and labour. After reading other posts here it is apparent that this company does a low ball price appeal through mass advertising for heating duct cleaning and then up sells customers with services or parts that are not necessary for their furnaces.
