Replace fuse panel with circuit breakers and install pot lights in our family room
We hired Chandler to do work on my mother inlaw's house several years ago. We were completely satisfied with the work. Based on that experience we hired him to work on our house last winter. The project was a disaster from start to finish. When the electrical panel was installed I pointed out a problem to Chandler. He agreed that it should be fixed. A week later I mentioned it to him again. A week later hydro inspector came by and I asked him to look at it. He described the work as shoddy and told me to call the Electrical Safety Association. I called Chandler and told him that if he didn't fix the problem that I would call the ESA. The electrician was here within three hours and fixed the problem. When they started to install the pot lights they realized that they had made a huge mistake. They assumed that there was a room above the family room. But there isn't. It is an attic space. Because insulated spaces require a totally different type of box part of the ceiling had to be removed. This added about $3000 to the cost. Then they left us with no ceiling for three weeks. This was in the heart of winter and cold air poured in. Finally they came to repair the ceiling. It was amateur hour. The holes in the ceiling for the lights were too big. I ended up filling them myself. The day the worker was to fill the joints he forgot to bring the drywall mud. The day that he came to sand the joints he forgot his sanding tools. I had to lend him mine. When I went to paint the ceiling I noticed several cracks. Chandler came and looked at them but never did send anybody to fix them. Unfotunately I had paid him. Based on this experience I would never consider hiring him again.
