My Bath Fitter, Val

Vals job was huge! No elevator in my building. Walk up and down 32 steps to my apartment. Walk up and down 64 stairs to the boiler room to shut the water off and on. But still, what a great guy. Not a murmur or complaint. Only courtesy, kindness and patience with me and all my questions. What a great job!! My tub to shower conversion is beautiful. By the way, Im 86 years old. Thank you, Val. Gods blesdings. Lydia McFarland. (P.S. to Beverly, thanks for your tub cleaning tips )

Tub to shower conversion

I was very impressed with the start to finish process. From the time I met Tim at the Toronto home show to having Tim give me a quote. Meeting Val my installer was the same great experience. Val was on time very professional and he kept a clean work space. Vals install of my tub to shower conversation was a great experience. Thanks to the Bathfitters team and to Tim (sales) and Val (installer).

Shower Install

We needed to update the shower in our rental. Bath Fitters made what seemed like a big job, easy and effortless. It was for us, not so much for our installer. JC was amazing, personable, and very professional. He was dealing with a very small space and uneven walls among things. He tackled these challenges like the pro he is and on time. We were left with an absolutely beautiful shower. A huge thank you to JC and everyone at Bath Fitters who made our experience stress free. We would definitely recommend them to anyone considering a bath makeover. -Super happy customer.

Never ever use these people

We had a salesman in and he said that it would be no problem changing our tub to a walk in shower. Once he made the sale we could not get a hold of the salesman again. The installers came and ripped out my bathtub only to tell us that the plumbing has the be changed. We could not do that as I live in a condo. The salesman told us that many people had done the change from tub to walk in shower and there was no problem. He said this just to make the sale. No one has used Bathfitters to make the change. They literally walked away leaving us with no way to bathe! Absolutely 0 responsibility for our plight. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone

Simple Project

Presentation on May 18th was great; paid deposit immediately; received contract the next day. Was told the work would happen end-August, early September. No follow-up after that and sadly lost 8 weeks waiting for their consultant to respond in order to take more measurements. I am heartbroken, as I wanted this demolition-free renovation for my very small and simple condo ensuite shower. Was happy to pay a premium, even tho many friends objected to the price. The whole reason I contacted them was for the no-demolition service. Ultimately, their response was: "Sorry this happened. We have used your comments to improve our process."
Not sure how they could remedy this, except to move me to the front of the line, as they told me I would be scheduled end-August, early September. So far, no comment from their side as to this as a possible solution. I guess I am the exception, since all the reviews are excellent, which only makes me more sad.

Cheap

Had bathtub covered. Product is poor quality, fixture finish does not match drain finish, tub does not drain, looks very cheap. Price far too high for the quality of product. Need to remove and replace with better quality and can do it for less than I paid. Service provided by Bathfitters Sudbury.

First Floor Bathtub

Bathfitters were amazing from start to finish. Jing, on Zoom, explained the whole procedure to me very clearly and gave me a good price. The installer arrived right on time to cover my old tub with a new shell and three walls. He was pleasant, professional, neat and tidy and finished the job in no time. I absolutely love my new tub and surrounding walls. Thank you Bath Fitters!

BIG MISTAKE

I contracted Bath Fitter to do a tub to walk-in shower conversion in my washroom. I was very clear on what I wanted done and the salesperson of course was very accommodating and responsive. Four weeks after I signed the contract, the technician arrived to start the work. My excitement quickly turned to frustration when the I told the technician my expectation and was quickly told that it was not in his work order. My concern was brought up to the manager's attention, who was supposed to resolve my issue. My frustration turned into anger when instead of resolving my issue, this haughty manager used a high-handed approach and made me feel like a total loser!
Never again will I deal with this company, and if you are looking to hire a contractor, please BEWARE of Bath Fitter in Scarborough!!!

Tub/show covering 2 years ago

The install was not intrusive, They were less then a day and didn't leave a mess. We had this done 2 years ago. The tub still looks good. I would recommend this over a tub replacement and re-tile.

Simple mistake led to flooded basement...

Installer only turned on water valve half-way causing pressure build up, fitting leak and basement flooding. A day of installation led to a nightmare when I went to my basement and realized water was coming up through my hardwood. Bath fitter response was contract boiler plate regarding the plumbing of the house, however pressure leak was caused by installer simply not reopening the main water valve all the way. Net result was an expensive and time consuming insurance claim. Indication from owner was that leaks were a frequent occurrence however no extra care or guidance was provided. Be sure to add an extra thousand to your quote to account for preventable issues. Highly recommend you look elsewhere for your remodel as this was an expensive mistake for us.

Company Response

Douglas, we can appreciate your frustration in this matter however, there is no evidence to suggest turning on the water valve at any degree less than fully would cause a leak. The valve turns the water flow to the house on and off, and shouldn’t leak regardless of how much you turn the valve on. You later indicated to our team that you had had issues with the shut off valve in the past, but did not indicate this to our installer at the time of installation. Should you require any further assistance with your Bath Fitter unit in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you.
