They really did not want the work.
We signed a contract with Avenue Road Roofing in November hoping to have our roof replaced early in the spring. We did not hear from them. When I contacted them they told me that the representative that we had signed the contract with had left the company. From that moment on, I had the distinct impression that they did not wish to honour the contract and would do almost anything to get us to back out (which in the end we did). They had a set of Terms and Conditions that made any damage to my home or property my problem. They would not stipulate that they would protect the new deck from damage. Finally we hired a different firm who used the same shingles and for about $1000 less (and no strict Terms and Conditions for the homeowner to sign). I will never call Avenue Road Roofing for a job again.

- Company Response
Thank-you for your comments; however as an anonymous post, we are unable to know who you are? As a result, it is not possible to respond to your comments directly.
You are invited to contact us as we are certainly willing to answer to your comments; which would be fair and reasonable. Regarding your comment about a staff member leaving our company; one person actually passed away, if that is whom you are referring to?
In general terms; all sold estimates are reviewed by our production division prior to acceptance for delivery. Our standard terms of agreement are signed off by the client, so they are aware of this fact. The Consumer also has the right to cancel an agreement without stated cause, for a ten day period in alignment with The Consumer Protection Act.
If an agreement is cancelled for any reason prior to delivery; the client is notified, and the reason communicated. As our priority is customer satisfaction; a job may be cancelled if the solution offered may not provide the client with an absolute result in the opinion of the Production team leader; or, in an instance where the client’s expressed level of expectation may be viewed as highly difficult to satisfy. Further to note is that a relationship between a client and a contractor (like a marriage of sorts);needs to be workable with both parties having trust and confidence.
It is good to hear that you have received a satisfactory result from your selected contractor. We do appreciate that you have given us the opportunity to have your business previously.
