- Company Response
In 2022; our company was hired to install downpipes on one particular side of your your home. The specific downpipes installed, were larger capacity than the original.
In 2023;you contacted our company to say you were unhappy as a result of water spilling over the trough.
Our inspector, visited the site and cleaned out the gutter in question, which had accumulated debris from the prior season. He advised you that the gutters should be cleaned out as a result of the trees. He also adjusted the camber of the gutter at your request. You acknowledged you were satisfied at that time.
The window wells you discuss in your testimonial are on the opposing side of the house from where such work was performed. In conversation; you noted that your husband had experienced a leak in the basement as a result of one of your window wells in the past. You suggested he solved that by installing a plastic rain shedding cover on that particular window well. It was suggested that you should do the same as possible protection for the other window well; which you said you would take under advisement. We asked if you had experienced any water in the basement and you had replied no. In none of your calls to our office or meetings with our team member did you mention any water in your basement. You did on one occasion ask for a discount. On another phone call to our office, you complained of a gutter leak, which was actually on the opposite side of the house. Our aluminum manager attended to find a clog in an elbow from an upper downpipe extending into the front porch trough. He took care of that by cleaning it out at no charge. There was/is no “y” pipe involved in you gutter system. We did not replace your eavestroughs. We did not install any clogged pipes.
We have no record of You ever having reported any issue of leakage or damage in your basement.
We have very willingly extended service on several occasions in response to your every call to us. We continue to stand behind our service work. You are welcome to contact us, and demonstrate the “significant damage” in your basement which had only become known to us via your review.
