Excellent follow-up after a rocky start.

** UPDATE: After my less than stellar review of Alpine's follow-up on this site, Mimi contacted me to try to make things right. Initially I was very reluctant to trust that the company would do a good job after my previous run around with them but he persuaded me to give them another chance.
The roofer, Curtis, turned up on schedule and worked very hard on my roof in freezing cold weather. He & his helper took all day to carefully remove our old chimney and cover it with board, membrane & shingles. Curtis was a great communicator and let me know what he was doing every step of the way. They returned the next day to replace the ridge vents and the stack flashing. The clean-up was pretty good. I was impressed with Curtis - he was polite, friendly & professional. Mimi also stopped by to ensure that I was happy with the quality of the work this time.
I have changed my original rating from 3 stars to a 7 as Mimi really went out of his way to ensure I was satisfied. **

Alpine redid our entire roof 11 years ago. Originally we were satisfied - the crew came when they were supposed to, worked for the entire day until well after dark & returned the next day to finish off and clean up. Initially the roof held up but we started to experience some leaks and we discovered that the work had been mediocre at best. However after a rocky follow-up Mimi has redeemed my opinion of Alpine. A big thank you to Mimi and Curtis.

A nightmare follow up.

Alpine redid our entire roof 11 years ago. Originally we were satisfied - the crew came when they were supposed to, worked for the entire day until well after dark & returned the next day to finish off and clean up. However as other reviewers have noted, Alpine's follow up leaves a LOT to be desired. We had a leak in the master bedroom whenever there was a heavy rainfall. I called Alpine and left a message. No response. Meanwhile another contractor who was on the roof installing a skylight told us that one of the ridge vent covers was completely missing and the other one was in poor shape. He also told us that the flashing round the bathroom vent pipe was the wrong one. It had been forced around the pipe, splitting it & leaving a gap in the flashing. We had had a leak in the ceiling below the bathroom but had assumed it was coming from the bathroom, not the roof and had spent time & energy trying to track down the source of the leak. Phoned Alpine again. This time Mimi came out & without even looking at the roof, never mind getting up there, assured me that there was nothing wrong. But I had photos to show him to prove it. When he realised that not only had Alpine done the original job but that he had been the estimator, he hastily said that he needed a hook ladder which he didn't have on his truck & he'd be back "in a few days". Again, nothing. The next time I phoned I actually spoke to a live person who asked me why I hadn't called Mimi on his cell (he hadn't given it to me). Said I'd lost the number so she gave it to me. That worked better because I was pestering him directly. After several more calls & emails he agreed to send someone from a crew to actually get on the roof. More calls to Mimi when no-one showed up. Eventually John appeared, went on the roof & took photos. Then nothing again. More phone calls. Not that I wanted Alpine anywhere near my roof again but just to see if I could get a decent response from them. After weeks of more calls I finally received a quote for double the price of other estimates which I'd got while waiting for Alpine to respond. The 3 stars I give them is for the original job. The after care - a big fat ZERO! Don't use them.
