Would giving everything for free to Mario have been fair to the thousands of customers who honour their purchase agreements? Would it be fair to the thousands of customers buying filters from us to give them to Mario for free only because he writes bad reviews everywhere? Would it be respectful to the thousands of customers who have plans with Aire One to give Mario the same advantages for free? Would it be fair to the thousands of customers who got extended warranties for installations after 2014 for Aire One to extend the same rights to Mario only because he trashes us everywhere?
Yes, Mario is right: we do not special order parts without first collecting payment. Yes Mario is right: when he bought the equipment from us in 2010 the warranty required yearly tuneups. Which he did not do. As a result Mario's labour warranty expired in 2011 and parts warranty expired in 2015. In 2013 we bent the rules and did complete warranty work for free, when we should have charged labour, no parts. In 2017, seven years after the installation and 2 years after his parts warranty expiry and 6 years after his labour warranty expiry, we still decided to offer Mario free parts and only charge for labour. This service call happened on April 20, 2017. The day temperatures were around 15C and night temps did not drop below 5C. Unfortunately the parts arrived later than what we would have wanted, and thus the repair happened on Monday. Truth is Mario would have been happy if we did everything for free, including filters and weekend.
