Acorn Wood Floors

Ron and crew installed a glue-down hardwood floor in our new house. Workmanship is very good and we are happy with the outcome. The 45 degree weave is especially cool. We appreciate the confidence and expertise that Acorn brought to the job, as well as the great attitude. Very good job on the vinyl plank as well.

Acorn Wood Floors was definitely the right choice! Ron is so personable and easy going even when some unexpected problems were encountered.(tearing out nasty tile job took a lot of extra time and required a new subfloor). In spite of the extra work plus our add on in upstairs hall they finished on schedule.
All of the staff whether office or in home were a pleasure to deal with, as well as very friendly. We were away during the last phase of the project, completely confident that we could trust this family based company. The end result is a beautiful floor on the main level of our house.

We initially checked out Acorn Wood Floors because we knew they were a long established company in the area and had an excellent reputation. We had concerns about some issues with our subfloor and wanted to deal with people whose main interest was a successful project, not merely gaining their commission. Our initial visit to their office gave us confidence in their product knowledge and when Ron did the site inspection and estimate we knew we had found exactly who we were looking for. He was not at all deterred by the slight "hump" in the subfloor, reviewed the materials and layout we had in mind and left us feeling very confident that this was a business that would deliver what they promised. The job started on the agreed date and the installer, Nathan, did a wonderful job. He dealt with the subfloor, some tricky finishing around the fireplace and when installing the baseboards and was still done in a day and a half. Throughout the entire process everyone we have dealt with have treated us like we were friends, not a potential pay check. We would not hesitate for a moment in recommending Acorn to anyone looking for any of the services they provide.

It was time to get my hardwood floors freshened up and I chose Acorn because of its consistently high ratings on Homestars. I definitely made the right decision to work with them.

I first met with Ron (the owner, not a sales person) and that was a reassuring first step. Ron is pleasant, forthright, and knowledgeable about his business and he provided a reasonable quote for the job. Everything went perfectly as planned, from our first meeting to the finished work and I am absolutely delighted with my floors. They look as beautiful as they day they were installed! It was a great decision and we are exceptionally happy with the quality of the installation and excellent customer service that we received. Ron quoted our project and was readily available throughout the process, coming in at the end to help finish up. Val and Erin handled the administrative elements, and did so in friendly, timely and efficient way. Nathan did the install and we are beyond pleased with his work. We recommend Acorn without hesitation and would use them again.

Love our floor! Ron was excellent. He was patient with all my questions and came to the house when I had a few concerns. Jon and his crew were on site and did the sanding, staining and stair rebuilding. They too were patient with all my questions and did a great job. I have learned through this process that redoing an existing wood floor and matching colours with other flooring is not easy but they were able to come very close. We highly recommend Acorn floors.

Our cabin is out of town. Ron and his guys worked exceptionally long hours, stayed in an unfinished cabin for 4 days with 2 other trades. Absolutely fabulous workmanship, worked well with other trades, all working together for the greater good....which happened to be me. Integrity is the best way to describe the team from Acorn. Highly recommend!

After a lot of years of neglect our Oak floor was in need of restoration. We had Ron come out to assess our needs. Knowing his products and the scope of work to be done he was able to bring our floor back to life . With minimal mess and done in 2 days we are very happy with the result and will recommend Acorn Wood Floors and hire them for future floor maintenance.

We had carpet removed and hardwood installed in the dining room, living room, entrance way, hallway and master bedroom. Worked with Ron to choose a product that would be best for our needs. Appreciate Ron's extensive knowledge of hardwood products. Installation took approximately one week and Nathan worked diligently to ensure the installation went without any issues. Nathan was very careful to keep the work area very clean during the installation process. End result is a fabulous looking floor.

Very knowledgeable, nice people. Floor was finished quickly - in two days, though they are busy so lead time was about a month. Quality of the work was quite good - though with a couple minor defects that I suppose you can't really complain about (excess stain near wall in a couple areas 4 inches wide). The floors look really good, though. Only real complaint would probably be that the transition strips were installed when the floor was stained (though the person we initially spoke to, Ron?, said that they would be installed separately *after* the baseboards were in). This meant that we were expected to cut the bottom of the baseboards to fit over the transition strip, which looked odd to us. We eventually had to trim the sides of the transition strip with an oscillating saw and now it looks good (now it looks like all the other transition strips we've ever seen anywhere else, including throughout the rest of the house).
