Air Conditioner

On Thursday July 30 leading up to the August 3rd long weekend our AC stopped working. We called A1 Air Conditioning to come and look at it. They said they'd come in the afternoon between 1 and 5. About 15 minutes later they called back and said they had a service person in the area and could come right away. After the service man, Matt, checked the AC he advised us the Evaporator Coil had froze up and they would have to inspect it to see if it could be repaired. This would cost around $240., but with no guaranty it could be repaired and if it had to be replaced it could cost over $1500. Because the AC is 27 years old he thought it would probably be better to replace it then replace the Evaporator Coil because the main unit outside could go in the near future. We had him arrange to have a salesperson call us to get a quote on a new unit. The sales rep, Richard, called and said he could come the following day, because he would have to look at our furnace before he could give a us quote. With the long weekend coming up we thought we would like to have something done before that. He said he would check to see what he could do and called us back within a few minutes and said he could come later that afternoon. It happened that Daikin had a special on their AC's until the end of September. After receiving a quote we decided to order it from A1. They were also able to find that they could install it the next day (Friday). The installers, Mike, and his partner were very friendly and installed it in less time then they actually quoted. We would not hesitate to recommend A1 for their service especially the way they handle all the necessary paper work to get any rebates for us.
