New Windows

I had three windows that were showing their age. One would no longer open and the mechanism could not be repaired. The others were rattly and old. My neighbour had seen Moncada Windows at the Home Show and was impressed. He ordered his windows from them, so I did the same. There was a delay in getting the windows installed, but when they finally arrived, the workers were fast and neat. I am happy with the results. My windows look nice and perform well. The room is cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

UPDATE AUG 2012: I had previously been happy with the three windows and installation from this company a few years ago, so I recently ordered three more. This time did not go so well. While the installers seemed efficient and personable, after they left, I discovered large gouges that had been badly filled with rough caulking in the interior window frames. It looks terrible! On one side of my living room window interior frame, there is a 2.5-inch gouge in the wood that has been inadequately filled with caulk. The nails had not been countersunk and the wood edge is crooked.
UPDATE (Sep 2012): After seeing my post here on HomeStars, I was contacted by Anthony, who came to survey the window. He then sent someone to fix the sloppy work, but overall, I am still not satisfied. Both Anthony and the man who came to fix the problem blamed it on the type of window I bought. This is not acceptable. At no point prior to installation was I told that my “new” window would end up looking like a bad repair and that I should be paying for something else.

Company Response

Stephanie is correct, we did contact her after seeing this review on homestars. Unfortunately we were not contacted to know she had any concerns until seeing this review. We immediately arranged for an appointment. Stephanie had two options when ordering this particular window install. 1, was to go brick to brick like the other windows or 2, do it as a replacement window. She opted for option 2 which is the reason why the interior trim remained. We did our best to satisfy our customer by adding the caulking and would filler, which our installer and Anthony both thought looked good. There was not much more we could do to the trim unless we remade the window brick to brick. This is not something Stephanie wanted to do originally. Our company has completed thousands of "replacement window" jobs over the years. Our professional opinion is that the window looked finished and complete. We did everything we could to satisfy her, but unfortunately in the end there was not much more we could to to satisfy her.
Thank you Moncada Windows Doors & Siding

If they had used wood filler, at least one could add more to fill the gap and the rough surface sanded, but there’s not much you can do with uneven caulking. I would not order any more windows from this company, nor would I refer anybody to them.
