We had a terrible experience with a previous major renovation in the upstairs part of our bungalow. When it came time to finish our basement we searched for a contractor with excellent reviews online. The word of others on Home Stars and Google reviews matters and we are so pleased they lead us to Grandview Design and Build. Derek and Andrew are both competent contractors and nice people. They went above and beyond to give us everything we wanted within our budget. Derek was exceptional at communicating before and during this project. They made sure to use quality materials and suggested ways that we could save money while still achieving a great result. There will be bumps in the road with any big or small renovation and these were handled well with open communication and joint problem-solving to determine next steps (although there weren’t many bumps!). During Covid, renovations are much trickier but they excelled at being able to plan the job out and make sure that materials were sourced in a timely manner. I have already recommended Grandview Design and Build to my friends and family. They exceeded my expectations and showed me that a major renovation does not have to be extremely stressful. I had every confidence that the job would be done well - and it was. I will definitely be calling Grandview for any future renovation jobs.
