An upgraded 30 year shingle was added to our brand new home and just after two years a wind storm of 100 km/hr destroyed our roof. The shingles were an extra expense and we were told they would with stand higher winds than what we experienced, and if there was damage the roof would be repaired. Not the case. After just over 2 years now and we need a new roof. Calls were made to Dykstra Brothers Roofing with negative results. They called the incident an act of God. Funny that they stated the product could with stand these winds, but now it is an act of God. We must pay for a new roof. Keep looking for a roofing company that will stand behind their work. This company will not.

RVL came across as very helpful and personable at first. Then everything that was an issue with the build was to be taken care of with out issue. Then after the two year mark hit, all of the issues were forgotten about as far as RVL is concerned. Cracks in stone work, large crack in wall, wood stain not done to specification, cracks in back tile work and a roof that was destroyed only after 100 km/hr winds (even though upgraded 30 year shingles were paid for rated for much stronger winds.) The builder would not accept calls and gave his cell phone to his wife to field all calls in a less than polite manner. All responsibility was passed as an act of God and RVL will not help. This is after only two years from taking ownership of a brand new build. NOT ACCEPTABLE. BE WARNED! WILL NOT STAND BEHIND WORKMANSHIP.
