Let me start by saying this review brings me no satisfaction but I feel it should be posted as I dealt with them thru this site.
Get Renovated was referred to me by a reputable company who had helped me with some other work. Looking at reviews I contacted Get Renovated and agreed that once their services were needed I would take a picture of work and set up estimate. I had said on initial comment via Homestars dialogue "close up wall from repair, secure carpet, an reattach trim. I do have trim."
Get Renovated responded by asking "Will you be painting the wall when it is fine late. How much carpet needs to be put back?" and asked me to send a longer distant view for which I did and futher including "carpet needs to be stretched and tacked back. Portion of tack bar removed. Cut to be seemed 2-3 ft". I also forwarded a picture of the slit to be seemed and a picture of the trim.
A quote was arranged saying how they would repair the wall, "install customer provided under padding , roll carpet back into place and install the customer supplied baseboard." All looks good drywall is there carpet is going to be secured into place and trim to be put back.
Well when the employee shows up he claims to have no knowledge of carpet work needed to be done despite me listing 2 times the carpet had to be secured along with detailed photos. He admitted to me he doesn't know carpets. Kindly the employee who I have no quarrel with helped me seem carpet back despite it being a crude job. The carpet has not been secured as of now. By the end of the day Get Renovated claimed carpet work was not on the work list. Well I listed it clearly to them.
Upon leaving the worker spilled what he called "rusty water" on a clean relatively new carpet. 7x5 area approximately. He did try to clean but I asked the company to send people with proper equipment. That was a week ago. If it was my company and my employee damaged a customers rug....id be all over satisfying the customer without hesitation. Get Renovated claimed they exceeded contract by putting 2 sided tape down to seem the carpet crudely - I actually helped the guy do it.
I dropped them an email the day before indicating I wasn't sure if I wanted to use existing trim and I was having trouble finding a suitable replacement. Their answer was if they had to come back that I could expect extra charges. I understand labour costs money but for a company that based their entire quote on pictures and job outlines they could use a little more savvy than demanding more money without seeing the job site and materials.
I am sure Get Renovated will refute this review but I presented them what I had asked for clearly 2 x in the beginning and indicated the contract was misleading. I have yet to hear a response. Further to that if they see this review they do read what is sent to them so they cannot deny not seeing initial carpet repair needs. I have posted some photos.
Finally I have paid in full as a good will gesture but as of now the carpet after a week is still dirty, the carpet is still not secured properly and my 2-3' seem is still basic crude fix.
Respectfully
T Ferguson
