Sean, the owner of FST Construction, was highly recommended by a friend when we were about to embark on a kitchen and bathroom upgrade. The most important thing to us was to hire someone we could trust, after another contractor who renovated our master bath did such a poor job. It was clear from our first meeting with Sean that the satisfaction of a job well done is incredibly important to him. Sean takes great pains to cover floors and seal off areas of the house to minimize dust. For our project, he did much of the work himself. He brought in other trades as needed (in our case, kitchen cabinetmakers and an electrician), but only those whom he knows share his commitment to quality work. Sean uses only the best materials for the job. The extra that one might pay for the best grout or leveling cement is minor given that the end result is solid workmanship. In the end, we have a beautiful kitchen, main bath and ensuite and the confidence that everything was built to last. We would not hesitate to hire Sean again.

I see from past glowing reviews of Andrea’s work that many of us who have reached out to her did so because our projects were stalled due to a lack of confidence in our colour choices. After spending a couple of hours with Andrea last week, our enthusiasm for our kitchen upgrade has been renewed and we are back on track. Andrea’s keen eye for colour and design resulted in a beautiful colour palette. She was so collaborative that we feel that the palette was chosen with us, rather than for us. By the time she left, we had colours for a bedroom, main bathroom and our exterior as well. With some newfound confidence, we took our paint chips to a flooring store she recommended, armed with the pattern name of a flooring she wanted us to check out. We returned home with 3 samples, chosen with the help of the sales rep, that all looked great under the flooring store lighting. Sure enough, once laid out on our kitchen floor, Andrea’s choice was clearly the best in our space. Aside from colour advice, Andrea had various suggestions as to how to make improvements that would have impact, but still be budget friendly, and has recommended suppliers and trades. Lastly, she tactfully steered us away from a few ideas that looked great in magazines but, for reasons she explained, would not work in our kitchen. We are very much looking forward to working with her in future and recommend her without reservation.
