I'm really not thrilled with my experience. I hired Vesta to clean gutters at my rental property. They quoted me a set price over the phone ($141.60) which I felt was reasonable. They seemed friendly and were able to book it pretty promptly. It started out well. Then the day comes and the guy calls to tell me the downspout wasn't attached but that he could find all the pieces and connect them. It may cost "a little bit more." OK, fine. Well, then I go over to the house only to have the neighbour rip me a new one because he had left the downspout on that guy's lawn (by at least 3-4'). I had to basically redo the guy's work. Then I find out that he didn't clean the garage gutters, even though in my quote request I clearly noted that there was a single garage and half duplex to be done. At this point, I'm not thrilled, but at least he did the high stuff- I could do the garage myself. The whole point of hiring this service, though, was that I was dealing with my grandfather's funeral and didn't want to be bothered with this. Then I get the invoice- they've charged me $273!!! $160 for the base cleaning (nearly $20 more than their quote even though they didn't do the garage so they actually did less work), PLUS $100 for reattaching the downspout (even though they did it over the neighbour's property and caused me issues). Again, the price was probably reasonable and that's not the problem- I just expected an update if the cost was different than quoted. The icing on the cake was that I provided this feedback to them and they really didn't care. No explanation of why the quote $141.60 jumped to $160. No comment on why they didn't do the garage. No apologies. No offer to correct placement of the downspout. Nothing. THEN, they harassed me over payment. I didn't want to pay until we'd resolved the issues above (I'm talking a day or two delay). I sent an e-transfer as soon as I heard back from the owner (even though her response was not satisfactory), but they couldn't figure out the password. I told them I needed to wait to ensure that the payment was indeed cancelled by my bank. I got text messages, emails, etc. constantly. If they put as much effort into their work as they do billing, I'd have been a happy customer. Frankly, they're lucky I paid the full amount because I really think I should have adjusted it to be the original quote (plus extra downspout work) and that would have been more than fair. I would probably have booked them to do this as regular maintenance if I'd had a good experience, but they blew it.
