Garberator and dishwasher repair
So my wife and I finished our walk through of our rental property and we realized there were a few things that needed fixing. We needed to get our garberator (sp?) and dishwasher repaired. Being sort of new at the rental property thing we called Mr. Rooter plumbing. Initially they seemed very friendly and helpful. The price of the garberator was very high but we figured we would listen to the guy. The guy tried to push us on the idea of signing up for their preferred member plan that would give us part and service discounts. We were still hesitant. He said that if we signed up for it he would fix the dishwasher free of charge. We decided to go for it. After the man was done, and we had paid for it, he went on to try and push all these other repairs/upgrades and would not take no for an answer. Basically it had taken a while for him to get all this work done so we left our renters with him as we could not stay there all day with him. He took it upon himself to nose around every square inch of the place and try to find things to sell us on. I contacted the management of the place and they went on to try and defend the intrusive behaviour. The day after these two repairs had taken place our renters called us to say that the dishwasher was not working. This was back in October. It is now March. Regular phone calls to try and get them to hold up to their end of the deal have resulted in nothing. They always say they will get someone to return our message and take care of the issue. If you value integrity and don't want unnecessary head aches in your life I would strongly suggest against dealing with this company. There are many options out there and I would hate to see another person deal with such a bad business.
- Approximate cost of services:
- $670.00
- What could this company do to improve their services?
- Complete the work they say they will do. Fix unproperly done repairs. Not dodge phone calls from unhappy customers. Not creep around people's places and try to upsell them on everything they can imagine.
- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- Avoid dealing with this company at all cost.
