Our new house has an old garage, circa 1950. The garage is in good enough shape but needed a new door. This was a custom job and a bit difficult. Happy with the door but best of all, when we needed a service call done, they were prompt. That's huge! It's one thing to install something but it's also very important to stand behind the warranty and do any needed adjustments. They came through! The only reason I can't give them 10/10 is that when I called to set up the repair (the door kept going back up and had to be closed manually), the CS rep tried to bill us and I had to point out it was still under warranty. I dunno...wasn't impressed with that. Bottom line, we recommend.

This is a review of the Edmonton Shed Solutions. Very positive experience. High-quality. very solid shed done in one day. Great customer service and delivery. Special mention of the crew lead - Ron; he was an extremely pleasant and affable. Always a pleasure to deal with someone so warm and personable. He was really good to his crew and they were all very professional. Highly recommend.

Surreal. When we ordered a dishwasher from Sears, I repeatedly asked and was assured that installation would be included. When we bought a dishwasher from them 7 years ago, it was indeed part of the purchase. Yesterday, the delivery fellow dropped the dishwasher off and we were floored when he said "nope, don't install, you'll have to call someone”. He also didn't take the old one away (we found out it was hardwired), a service we paid extra for. Then begins the real Customer Service hell. It's hard not to think two things: 1) We were willfully deceived re: installation. We never would have purchased the bloody thing if we knew we had to find an installer. 2) The twisted, perverse homunculi that make up the Sears brain trust actually sit around a boardroom figuring out how to be the most frustrating company they can be. It's that surreal. When you call CS, (which I think is in the Philippines - not that that there's anything wrong with that, they're polite and intelligent but, frankly, useless), all they could do was apologize but how does that help? I was supposed to be grateful that they would, indeed, come pick up the old one once the new one was installed. BUT, that then there was the new level of steam-inducing anger - the local service installers. I called, got through right away, the fellow, Scott, said the installation would be $155 - I should try to call CS and they might waive it. I said “not the same people I’ve been talking to, they can’t help” and he gave me a number and said “no, these are different people” but he wasn't truthful. I was right back where I was. Called installation again, got the same gormless git when Sears Canada came up on call display. He advised me to take the call, I did and was back in the Philippines being told the same useless stuff as before. Then, tried to call Installation again - suddenly, I can’t get through. You’re told to hang in, that you’re number one in line and then (after 20 minutes) BOOM you’re cut off and asked to leave a message. This happened four times, no exaggeration. Weird, hey? How is it I had no problem getting through and then suddenly I can’t to save my life…. I tried calling a local number, no luck - if I got through to anyone they apologized and said they’d patch me through to a live person then threw me back into the Installation purgatorial loop. Sears has reached a tipping point; they’re in a death spiral and their employees don’t care anymore. Stay away, this is not your father’s Sears. PS: A message was left on vmail this morning saying I could call a number and give a customer satisfaction survey within that next 48 hours. It stated they would really appreciate the feedback - dialled the number (three times and checked for accuracy), got an automated voice saying “ the number you’ve dialled belongs to NuVox…goodbye” and disconnected. Surreal….we're sending the dishwasher, which is sitting in our hallway, back. We will actually be charged for the $75 shipping fee but we can't care now, we'll NEVER give them our business again and tell everyone we know to stay away.

We found this company through the BBB; their A+ rating was very misleading. We made it clear that good insulation was a high priority for us; actually, the whole reason we were undertaking this reno. Not only did they use bottom-of-the-line insulation, they did no taping and, on parts of the house, nailed the insulation (with no nail-caps) onto bare wood or onto very torn 50-year-old tar paper. Luckily, we took pictures that proved this before we left on holidays. If you're wondering "why didn't you say something while the job was being done?", we made several mistakes that people new to renos make. 1) We went away on holidays and didn't monitor the progress - we were far too trusting. 2) We didn't do our homework - we had no idea, until we talked to other contractors later, the importance of moisture barriers and taping joints when installing insulation. 3) We blindly picked someone through the BBB but now know it's SOOO essential to get someone with trusted references (by "trusted" I mean someone you know and trust who's actually had the company do work for them). Please note that the siding aspect LOOKED great but the what's the point if you're going to have water damage down the road and your insulation is virtually worthless? Another distressing aspect was this company's dishonesty. When we said that our neighbor told us that no taping was done and the insulation nailed onto bare wood, they denied it (again, the importance of taking pictures). They also said they used the best insulation available but that too was deliberately misleading. The one thing we did right was withhold the final payment. With that leverage, we forced them to fix the job (at some extra cost!). My impression is that they never would have fixed it for the sake of their reputation or concern for our distress, they just wanted the money. When the siding was taken off for the insulation to be fixed, we were shocked that the job was even shoddier than we'd first thought. Bottom line, they didn't give a flying flip about our house at all and my advice is stay away from them.
