Amazing isn’t usually a word you associate with a renovation contractor, but it really is the best word to describe Quasar Trend. From the very start when Amir came to my place to review the work I wanted done , to negotiating the contract, to the actual renovation itself, Amir was always accessible, detail oriented and provided insightful recommendations. I had a major condo renovation and it isn’t easy doing this type of work as they are extra layers to it, following the buildings rules, bringing all the materials and equipment up elevators. Ensuring that the common elements aren’t damaged , working during set days and times and trying not to disturb the neighbours. Amir’s team was fantastic in this whole process and were very organized and professional. Amir introduced me to his suppliers and was very knowledgeable in helping me decide on materials and his suppliers were top notch and high quality. I really can’t say enough about how easy and stress free Amir made the whole renovation, which again isn’t something that a lot of people experience in a home renovation. I would highly recommend using Quasar for your construction or renovation project.

I ordered a sofa, matching chair, ottoman and dining chairs in Sept 2010. I was told at the time that the sofa, matching chair and ottoman were made by a Quebec manufacturer and the dining chairs were made by a different Quebec manufacturer. I try to buy Canadian products as much as possible so even through there were some other sofas and chairs that I saw at other places cheaper and I like the design better, I decided to order the ones from Decorium because they were Canadian. Big mistake! I was told that it would take 8 - 12 weeks to recieved them because they have to be made. So that was fine, other places have similar lead times. I did receive the sofa and dining room chairs the end of November, but to my surprise, when they were deliverd the box of the dining room chairs clearly stated MADE IN CHINA. I was horrified but I had already paid for them for I accepted them. I called to see when the matching chair and ottoman would be delivered. This began my epic adventure because every week I was assured that I would have them the following week. I had arranged to Friday Dec 17 off work for the delivery but on Dec 15, I was told by the salesperson Nuno, that he had just received notice that the company had just send a notice that they had run out of material and had to order some more in so it would be delayed until the first week of Jan. I asked him why they were just informing him now and he stated that is what furniture manufacturers are like but I told him that there should have been someone at Decorium who follows up on these things to ensure that shipments are deliveries are scheduled properly. Needless to say I was very upset because I got rid of my old furniture because I was told that it was coming the first week in Dec. So because of this I had to cancel by Christmas and New Years entertaining because I did not have enough chairs for guests to sit on. I still didn't know that this was just the beginning of my frustation with Decorium. In Jan I had to call every week at least a couple times a week to get an update on the delivery. Every time Nuno would tell me that it was leaving the factory that week and to expect it the following week. I asked how long does it take to ship it from Quebec and eventually he told me that it was coming from Michigan. I couldn't believe it because it obliviously not told me the truth about where it was made as well. I spoke to Louis, the sales manager and he was just as useless as Nuno, but he was also very nasty and certainly should not be a sales manager. In any other company he would be fired! I also spoke to Georgie, the General Manager who was at least nicer and promised to call me as soon as it came in, but I did not hear from him any longer. I also told him how Nuno was not truthful to me about the country where both the sofa and dining chairs were made, but he did not seem to care at all about that. I did not get my chair and ottoman until the end of Feb, that was over 3 months late. So be aware of this company that the sales people will say anything to get you to buy and that the customer service and follow up service is the worst that I have even seen in any stores that I have bought from.
