We moved into a 4 level townhouse in Toronto late last year. Each floor had stucco (popcorn ceilings) and also is concrete. This created two problems - we wanted to get rid of the popcorn ceilings and also wanted to install potlights which was impossible with concrete ceilings behind the stucco. We began to research our options and it was basically scrape the stucco and fix ceilings then repaint or install drywall to cover it. Both were not suitable options. The cost was high for what we would get in return as contractors seemed to not want to do these options. It would also be an extremely dirty and time consuming job. We then came across AV Style and the idea of stretch ceilings. Although the cost is marginally more than the other options, this by far is the absolute best option. By dropping the ceilings 2", we were able to install the stretch ceilings throughout, which allowed us to cover all the popcorn ceilings and install potlights wherever we wanted (installed a total of 21 potlights). The job Victor and his team did was absolutely stunning. They were very friendly and easy to deal with, very clean throughout the install process, very efficient, and overall a pleasure to deal with. The end result is quite stunning as you will see from the pictures. We have had numerous guests over and all have commented on how lovely our ceilings look and the originality and uniqueness of this job. I am extremely happy with AV Style and would recommend them to others looking to enhance the look/value of their home or those that have a similar situation like us - with popcorn ceilings or concrete floors.
