We met with Tate, the owner of Americspec, who did a really great job and was very honest with our home inspection. He was very thorough – checking the attic and roof – and walked us through the property to show us what he was inspecting. He also gave us some great home improvement tips.
Me and my husband had just moved into our new house and after a few uses - our stove stopped working. It seems to be a high tech. stove. We Google searched for an appliance repairman and found ATA Appliances. A repairman came out right way which was nice. He looked everything over, said he could fix it then, needed to order a part and quoted us roughly $300. The part came in and he came back to install it. The same repairman came back to install the part and after a few hours of trying he figured out it was the wrong part. He then said he would have to order another one and left. He called us shortly after he left to say he wouldn't be able to repair it & asked for payment for his time spent troubleshooting. We appreciated that he was honest in saying he couldn't fix it & understand that he needs to make a living. However, now we're out of pocket $65 for someone to tell us they cant help us and now need to find someone else to do the work. I would imagine that with older appliances ATA would be a good help.
My relator had sent me the contact information for Amerispec and highly recommend them, so I thought I would give them a try. Me and husband were purchasing our first 'actual house' and had just sold our condo. I was a bit worried about what would be found in the home inspection since a condo is easy to deal with - any house issues we would be stuck with it. I work in the construction industry and it was a relief to have Tate there, who knew what he was talking about. He was honest about anything that might be less then perfect and offered a lot of great tips to help save money on certain things. His inspection was very detailed and he left us with a home improvement binder for future reference if we ever needed to fix any odd things. I will be using Amerispec with any future home I purchase and would recommend their services to anybody looking for an honest and affordable inspection - job well done!!
