Vince and Nathan from Max Improvements are awesome. For our full basement renovation, we called in quite a few contractors - and once we spoke with Vince, we knew who the right choice was. But, the good vibes didn't stop there. He provided us with a professional quote, a computerized layout, and even left some samples on our door step after we asked to see what flooring would look like. The top-tier experience only continued once the job started. Professional, courteous, and punctual. They had patience to chat with my kids when they would talk with them. When we went on vacation, they took out our compost and shoveled the driveway when it snowed. It's just the kind of guys they are. And the all important cherry on top of this sundae... The work is absolute top quality and exceeded our expectations. Vince - you have a customer for life. Thank you!

Had a (seemingly) leaky drain from a bathtub and clogged shower drain. Called Paul and he was able to come immediately and traveled out to Bowmanville from Pickering. He came in, did his thing and within an hour everything was fixed. His troubleshooting skills were fantastic. Paul is top-notch and will readily recommend him to all my friends. A+++.

We brought in five separate HVAC companies. Frank Cullen was the only one who came prepared. He showed up with a stack of references. His price was also very good. What sold us was someone from his office called the next day to inform us that the government has changed some of the rebate offers - and we hadn't even agreed to go with them. They informed us, even when we didn't have any applicable rebates. Two installers were sent out and it looks like they did a good job in just a few hours. They were courteous and cleaned up after the job. The only knock I had against this company is that they said they would be here between 9:00 and 9:30. I got a call at 8:30, saying they would be here a little later - probably 10:00 to 10:30. I then got a call at 10:00 saying they were on there way. They showed up at just after 11:00. I do like the fact that they called us each step of the way. I would recommend this company. They were definitely the most professional of all the companies we got quotes from.

Rather than deal with the hassle of renting a truck and moving everything outselves, we hired Ultimate Choice to move from Mississauga to Bowmanville. The reservation process was smooth and the rates were very, very reasonable. They provided three movers and a 30 foot truck. They showed up exactly on time. One really great thing about these guys is that they were super, duper fast - one of the guys was even able to carry a full-size, 3 seat leather couch by himself by hoisting it up on his back!!! We had our entire 3 bedroom home loaded up in about 2.5 hours. There were a few dings since these guys were moving so fast, but nothing that couldn't be fixed pretty easily. Relatively clean by putting down runners, but as with moving, sometimes they stepped off them - not a big deal. They were more than happy to wrap up items that could get scratched, and did so very well. They were able to unload in about 2 hours, again with a couple dings in the new place. Again, nothing super terrible, but still dings. They were a good bunch of guys to deal with, the price was right and it was done very fast. Time equals money. I also got a follow-up call a couple days later asking if everything was satisfactory. I would definitely recommend Ultimate Choice to my friends.

Brent just completed a home inspection for us in Bowmanville. He was right on-time (even early) and was very friendly. He always offered up intelligent information about the house as he was inspecting it, and any questions that were asked were answered with expertise. Even though there were some cracks in the foundation, Brent was able to tell me that they were correctly fixed and fixed well. If I had a question or concern about something I saw in the house, he would take the time to fully investigate it until I was satisifed - even if I was being super paranoid! I would gladly recommend Brent to any of my friends, and hope to use him again when purchasing our next house - thanks Brent!

Thank you so much for the review and kind words Tim and Amanda!!! It is much appreciated!!! You know Tim, paranioa seems to be running rampent right now. Esp, with all those tv shows that like to scare everyone regarding things around the home. No question, there are many things to worry about regarding a home, it just seems to me though that nowadays everyone is paranoid of everything. It's a wonder we even get out of bed in the morning, of course in bed, you have to watch the bedbugs and bacteria that is sitting on the sheets that will get you. I do try and be as practical as possible. Some cracks are worth worring over, there are ones that you should be loosing sleep over, and yet there are some that are just simple cracks that can easily be fixed. To me, that was a super nice Bomanville home. I think you both should be quite happy with your purchase. I am glad you are happy with the inspection! Thank you again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

My wife and I had a huge to-do list for Dan. It ranged from medium sized jobs to smaller jobs. Some jobs which Dan was able to efficiently and competantly complete with great results: - Ceramics installed in bathroom - New front door installation (including frame) - Fixing a few rotting boards on a front wood porch - Installing (and fixing!) trim in a number of rooms - Installing items, such as a ceiling fan, a custom sized door (with some great ingenuity to get it to fit properly!), transitions, caulking a number of items, including crown moulding, trim, kitchen ceramics, etc. - Troubleshooting a number of problems, such as a door that wouldn't close, closet doors that wouldn't slide well. Dan even gave some tips with a couple things that I was trying to do (painting in tight places, a leaky kitchen faucet), as well as other tips on how to clean up some aspects of our house. Always prompt and willing to help, Dan is the consummate professional. We will now be regular customers and recommend him highly. Thanks again Dan.

Oris and Chris came by to do a few small jobs: - Fix a 3-way switch - Fix another switch - Install a new recepticle - Fix a problem with the length of a wire Not only were both Oris and Chris awesome to deal with, they were very efficient too. They even found a problem with the wiring in my bathroom (low gauge wire) and fixed it. They even did some extra work that I hadn't planned for: installing a few new recepticles. Also fixed a recepticle that I had installed correctly which was repeatedly blowing a fuse. Fast, friendly, efficient and good quality of work. I'll definitely be using HotWire for any electrical needs.

We are renovating our entire first level of our house and we looked for a company that did granite countertops for about one month. We found the Creative Stone here on homestars.ca. We had called and looked for estimates with approximately 8 different companies. Needless to say, Steve is the man! We called them on a Thursday and Steve came and took measurements on Saturday - at our convenience. Later that day, we went to their workplace and picked out our slab. We wanted to get it installed ASAP. The following Saturday (1 week later), they came to install. We again asked for a Saturday because it was most convenient for us. They had no problem at all with this. They were perfectly on time. The cuts in the countertop were absolutely perfect - it fit like a glove. The install was done with great care and precision. They took their time and made sure absolutely everything was done right. There was even a levelling problem with our cabinets and they fixed it perfectly. Everything was cleaned up - even swept my already dirty kitchen floor that didn't even really need to be swept! And did I mention that their prices are FANTASTIC? A+++ for the Creative Stone /Tim and Amanda.
