Multiple visits, broken glass, poor clean up, 3 months to complete
Let me start off by saying, I am not one to write reviews but I felt it was necessary to do so. This company was a struggle to deal with after the first visit after the measurements were taken. It took about 3 weeks to get the windows ordered. First installation was completely horrendous, the installer left shards of broken glass on my window (which my 3 year old cut his finer (minor) but still not OK, garbage outside, silicone the window but was not clean and left blotches. I reported this to a manager who came a few days later to inspect, which confirmed all the flaws the installer previously did. He came back a few weeks later to replace both windows. He successfully installed one window but installing the second window he broke that one. We waited another week for them to come back to install which was done without any issues. The hassle of having to continuously have someone home + multiple visits at in my eyes warranted some sort of discount but nothing was brought forward. I received a call the day of the last install requesting payment. When asked if there some sort of discount for this work and all the hassle I was told "I was not told anything about a discount". Although management was friendly and courteous relating to the initial installer it was overall an OK experience. Multiple visits and no sort of discount even offered for our time wasted was not a great experience. I would not be going back forward with this company for the reasons listed above. Edit. Based on company remarks. "Demanded to leave" that's a joke and untrue. They showed up 2hrs later than promised (failed to mention that in his review) and my wife had to pick up my son from daycare. Also here are the pictures I took of there work which included shards of glass outside and inside my house (where my 3 year old cut his finger), horrendous seal around my window and garbage to pick up. I'm glad this client wrote this review as we like to have constructive criticism to help us improve as a business . The first installation was done by a previous installer who is no longer with us. He was a great installer in the beginning but as time went on we noticed his lack of commitment to the company and the standard we have started to dwindle. So we had to let him go. As I got to the job site I did notice some small bits of silicone left on the ground. But in his defence the home owner had to leave in a rush and demanded my installers just drop everything and leave. Not even giving us time to do a proper clean up. We need a certain amount of time to do the installation and they were very aware of that. Once I have relived the installer of his duty I went to the site to remeasure for new glass. Our turn around time is roughly about two weeks as that is the industry standard. Once I had the new glass I personally went to do the install. I'm the project manager. As I did one window the other glass broke but that was because the casement window was old and falling apart and put a crack in the unit. I immediately ordered a new one and went back ASAP. Unfortunately in this industry glass breaks. Once I was done I made sure I did a full clean up. The reason we had to go back in the first place was there was condensation on the glass but it was because they had high amount of humidity in the home and all the glass had condensation even the ones we did not work on. So really all I needed to do was go clean glass and pick up garbage but I wanted to give the home owner piece of mind so I gave them all new glass. We spent money from our own pocket when it wasn't necessary. A discount wasn't mandatory in this situation as the the home owner should of let my installer have the proper time to finish the job. If so only a short trip would of been needed to clean up glass and bits of silicone from the yard. I'd be more than happy to offer a discount on further work by this client. We are truly sorry for all the inconvenience. With this review we strive to be the best customer service glass company in the city.
