Better training in customer service desperately needed
My husband and I were looking to purchase a Maclaren Quest stroller and after extensive research, West Coast Kids was the only store in the greater Toronto area to carry it. The store location is about a 45 min drive from where we live. When we got there we went to the section of the store specifically dedicated to the strollers with about 20 strollers out on display for you to give a test drive. The stroller we were looking for was not out on the floor but they did have it in stock. When we asked if they could take one out of the box we were told that the manager will not allow the stroller to be taken out of the box to be test driven because it brings down the value of the item. Keeping in mind ALL the other brands of stroller all had one out on the floor for everyone to try out. I had to ask to speak w the manager because there is no way I was going to purchase a big ticket item without testing it out first. I know the manager heard me but she never came out to speak w me but instead sent another sales associate out with the stroller to take out of the box to let us test out. We ended up buying the stroller but if we had just accepted their lame excuse to not let us test it out they would have been out a big sale.
