Great store for gifts but expensive
Puddifoot is a great store if you need a gift for a wedding or house-warming. Unfortunately, it's never my first choice when I buy for myself. They have a fabulous selection but their products seem to be more expensive than other similar shops outside of Kerrisdale. For that reason, this would be my first choice if I need to buy a gift for someone. But for shopping for myself, I would need a larger selection that's more cost effective.
Great selection of support products
There is no doubt about it. Daniadown has a great selection of beddings and linens. Not to mention great sales on the products you want. I was happy to find two great cleaning solution products there that I continue to use today: Nellie's Laundry Soap and Grandma's Spot Remover. I was so glad I found and bought these two products. Nellie's is an amazing laundry detergent. It's biodegradable, hypoallergenic, eco friendly and HE certified. At this point, I will not use anything else. I also found Grandma's Spot Remover there as well. It has been remarkable in getting out stains particularly oils such as olive oil. I even used it on an old stain and it worked to get it out of my shirt. It's these products that help keep your beddings and linens in tip-top shape and I'm so glad I can find them at Daniadown.
The product return policy and warranty are AMAZING!
These days, electronics retailers are a dime a dozen. It's no surprise that some of the best deals come from big stores such as Costco. But I find Costco even more unique when it comes to buying a computer, television or any electronic item. Their return policy and warranty are amazing. Unlike other electronic retailers, you don't have to buy the extended warranty. It's an added value. With the purchase of any big ticket electronics you receive a 2 year warranty. Two years! This alone makes buying a computer or television from Costco worth it.
For years, I've often shopped at Pier 1 for home decor items and housewares. They have a great selection of fun glassware and tableware. But shopping for furniture at this store was a bit new to me until I walked by and saw this great dining table and matching chairs. The table is the right height for my space and will translate nicely anywhere. Because it's counter height it's an even better choice for my small space. A great choice and great quality. I was able to have the table and chairs delivered. What I didn't realize was that there would be some assembly required and the table turned out to be much heavier (a good thing in the long run) than I thought. If you see something you like, just make sure it's available before you plan. Ask the sales rep to check their database because sometimes all they may have left is a floor model.
Saved my lifeline -- my computer
This visit was planned as a simple upgrade from Vista to 7 for my desktop and optimization of my netbook (the one he recommended based on my needs). It turned into a larger fix when Jens recognized that my hard drive was failing. Yikes! The optimization of the netbook was a breeze. So much so Jens shared some "tricks of the tech trade" that I wasn't aware of (and I consider myself pretty savvy). Those tricks will save me time, memory and disk space. It is, after all, why he's the tech professional. The desktop and hard drive problem had me sweating and freaking out. But Jens handled the problem with so much ease and patience. He recognized the problem, tried several options to correct and finally installed a new hard drive (the old one was toast). By getting my computers in perfect working order, he has made me better prepared for the next step of adding a fully networked system within my home including setting up security and wireless. After 19+ years of owning my vacuum (a requested gift from my dad) and traveling with me to a number of cities, it just died on my one day. The last thing on my mind was buying a new vacuum. I called Trade-UR-Vac and they told me to bring it in. My vacuum was ready in less than two days. While I had images of possibly shelling out $100+ for a new one, my friend was fixed with a new filter and switch. It's as good as new and the cost was more than reasonable. I would highly recommend Trade-UR-Vac.
