We are incredibly happy with the service we received from Mark and his crew. Mark immediately responded to all questions and walked me through the whole process (and I had a lot of questions). Resent the quote a couple times as I change my mind on a few things. His crew was here on time and did a great job. They were thorough and respectful and finished even faster than I expected. We had to remove almost 100 years of shingles, remove a chimney, and replace all the shingles. If would 100% hire them again. Highly recommend.

We hired Valentin to replace our kitchen sink drain after replacing the sink. We have 90 year old pipes and he was careful and did the job quickly, well, and cleanly. We would definitely hire him again for our plumbing needs and recommend him to others.

We hired Avalon Granite to replace our kitchen counter and our bathroom counter, we were happy with their prices and the sales person was pretty quick to respond to questions, so decided to go out to see the actual pieces in person. The person I began speaking with didn't work on weekends (which is the only time we could make it out there) and the person we booked an appointment with was busy with other customers, so a third employee assisted us. He was nice, but didn’t know at all what had been previously discussed/quoted, he also didn’t know which pieces we were there to look at or where they were. In the end we figured it out and decided to buy both the kitchen counter and the bathroom counter. At that point, I told the person we were meeting with that we were doing a bathroom renovation in the future and so we would need the kitchen counter top installed separately from bathroom countertop. I asked at this time if it would be an issue and were told it was fine. Then we were told that someone would be by to measure the countertop soon. The person who was suppose to measure the countertop cancelled the day of the appointment though and then we were told that it was because our job wasn't big enough to warrant him coming out to our home. In the end someone did come to measure, but we were told at that time that they would only come on one day to install both (even though we weren't ready for the bathroom countertop and we had been quoted both pieces individually including installation and told when we asked at our appointment that it was ok) so we ended up just asking them to drop off the bathroom vanity top when the kitchen countertop was installed and we had our bathroom contractor install the vanity top. To be fair they did say that they would come back if we paid for the countertop in full when the kitchen countertop was installed, however, given the issues we had run into, we didn’t feel comfortable paying the amount in full without having the product. The day the installers came went well, they did a good job on the kitchen countertop and we like the way the stone looks. However when it came time to pay the bill there was another mix up and we were told we owed a substantial sum more than what we had agreed to, luckily a call to our initial contact cleared it up pretty quickly, but it was just another bump in the road with this company. I think that perhaps if you were spending a lot more than we did, that the customer service would be better, but I can only speak to the experience we had. We're happy with the final product, which is why I have given a rating of 6, but there were no seams and the job was fairly straight forward, so if we were to do it over, I would hire another company with better customer service and lose the headaches we encountered along the way.

Candice, we apologize for the headaches you went through working with Avalon. The only thing I can think of that caused the misunderstandings was the extreme volume of work we had over the past couple months. This, however is no justification for the experience you went through, and we are working on expanding our customer service efforts so future clients will not go through a similar experience. Once again, we regret what you went through, however we hope that the final product has been a worthwhile investment.
Thank you for your business.
Regards,

The Avalon Team

Having purchased our first home just two years ago, and this being our first major renovation, we were a little nervous about hiring someone to handle our bathroom reno and expansion. We had heard all the horror stories and didn’t want to end up among them. After some careful research we interviewed three contractors and felt the best about John. His prices were competitive, he seemed to understand what we wanted, he showed up on time, and was willing to answer our many questions. We also liked that we were allowed to source our own fixtures where we wanted to, and relied on John to assist with providing the others. There was never any pressure to choose from a list of products, and we didn’t feel completely on our own when we needed help finding something. After hiring Avonlea we weren’t disappointed. The project started a couple of days earlier than we expected (with our blessing, of course), Gabriel was wonderful and respectful, he was there every day, and cleaned up after the project every day. John and Dominic came back a few times throughout the reno to make sure that everything was going to plan and had some suggestions on how to handle some things that came up along the way. In the end we felt respected, and confident in the work that was done. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this team to my friends and family looking for a good contractor who will finish on time, on budget, with quality work, and at a reasonable cost.

I called Des O'Leary on a Sunday and he was at my home to take away a garage full of renovation garbage the next morning. He was friendly and up front about all the costs involved and estimated within a few pounds how much junk I had (2.2 tons!). He even swept the garage before he left; I don't think I've ever seen it so clean. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of junk removal and would use his services again.
