I was looking for a solution for my backyard as it had gotten too far out of hand for me to fix myself. I had bad drainage, lots of pooling and ponding of water after every rainfall, which made for a generally unpleasant and unusable space. After searching Homestars I found On Grade Landscaping, as they said they specialized in grading and fixing situations like mine. James was very responsive and set up a site meeting shortly after contacting him. He was out here in January taking measurements and we discussed various options for the space. I wanted to have a clean organized space, with low maintenance gardening and a spot for a pool. and a drainage solution. James suggested a mix of interlock and grass, with some strategically placed garden beds, vegetable garden, and a french drain out the rear of the property to take care of any water drainage from the pool. The quote and a sketch of the design came in promptly and we didn't hesitate to get this job locked down and scheduled so we would be able to enjoy it this summer. James and Chris were on site at 7am every day, even in the rain, pulling up 40+ patio stones and removing some raised beds that I had put down over the years. Demo, cleanup and install of the space took approx. 9 days from start to finish. I was impressed with the work ethic, even putting in a full day on Good Friday. This was a particularly challenging job because machine access to my yard is not available, so we arranged to go through on my neighbor's side. The guys were able to get the materials in and out over the course of about 5 days, with great care and minor disturbance to my neighbor and her property They even noted some areas where the machines had caused some sinking on her interlock pathway, and they were diligent in making sure it was left in a condition better than they found it. I had constant communication from the team from the minute we signed the contract, from tweaking the design, to picking out the stone and the plants - On Grade was a pleasure to deal with, and I'll definitely use them again.

I had 2 trees and a large cedar to remove as we are doing some landscaping in the backyard. Prior to doing the job I put the request to Homestars, and was contacted by 2 people expressing interest. After meeting both of them, I was impressed by Jack and his professionalism. Jack gave me a quote, in writing, outlining scope of work, the other guy just gave me a verbal price for the job so I had no hesitation going ahead with Jack of All Trees to do this job. I felt comfortable that he was highly trained, and very knowledgeable. The work was scheduled and completed on time, and again, I was super impressed by the care in which the job was done, and judging by all the safety gear, I could tell that Jack and his team knew was very experienced. He showed up with a crew of 3 and all made quick work of this job. They were also kind enough to cut a bunch of discs off the tree for my daughter before they hauled them away. Access to my yard posed a challenge for the stump grinder, as the first one he brought out was unable to fit through the opening to my back yard, so he had to come back another time. He kept me in the loop during the whole process, and did all the necessary due diligence obtaining locates from all the utilities prior to grinding, which was a huge relief. Never once did I have to chase him to ask when he would be back to do the job. Just a real easy, stress free experience by a professional, honest and pleasant team at Jack of all Trees, highly recommended.

We have many pets and a 3 year old and it seemed no matter what we just couldn't make enough time to get the place as clean as we wanted. We would do rooms one at a time but but the time we finished we were back to square one. I called Aida and explained our situation and she gave me a quote over the phone. The quote was fair, but since she lived nearby I invited her for a visit to see the job in person as I didn't want any surprises. She is very personable and we felt immediately at ease having her visit our home. We needed more than a room or 2 cleaned, we needed a full house cleaning, this included a good thorough clean of all baseboards, kitchen cabinets, on top of cabinets, floors, basement, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms. She asked what types of cleaners we were comfortable with and said she would use those. Not only did she clean everything immaculately, her and her team neatly arranged our home with care and love, and even tackled jobs that I did not expect her to do. By the time she was done we didn't even recognize the place. She gave our home a real peace and warmth and we'll be calling her regularly for this service from now on.
