I am always in good spirits after a trip to Ikea - I have decorated most rooms in my apartment with at least some of their decor. The quality of the stuff that you get there isn't always the greatest, but a lot of the things that I have bought there have lasted for several years, and are still in good condition. I have a night table from Ikea that has had a few bumps and bangs from moving, etc., and is still in really good shape - it's good quality. Ikea also has an amazing selection of things you won't find anywhere else. It's a must-see if you're decorating a new place or just looking to add a little something to a wall or 2 where you're already living.

I recently bought a mattress at Sleep Country, and vowed to tell all my friends about what a pleasant experience it was to shop there, and what an awesome mattress I found. They were having a Sealy sale, so I got an excellent deal, the salesman was extremely nice and helpful, and even willing to negotiate the price a little bit (without making me feel bad about it). The mattress itself is exactly what I wanted. It arrived within 3 days in the store, they delivered it promptly, the delivery men were very pleasant, and they hauled my old mattress out of my place for me. To top it off, I have a 60 day guarantee if I'm not completely satisfied (although I am) - what a great place. I'll definitely go back the next time I need a new mattress!

I have just completed another successful project with help from Home Depot - I managed to renovate my bathroom basically on my own, mostly because of the help and advice that I received from the sales/service people at the store. One particularly helpful salesman even sat me down and drew diagrams for me to show me how to do a specific job that I wasn't sure I could get done myself. They never made me feel like a bother or gave me any grief when I had 'just one more question'. I love the job that I did, and I attribute much of my success to the people at Home Depot who helped talk me through it. I spent about half of what I would have spent if I'd hired someone to do the same job. I'm thrilled!

I was pleasantly surprised with a recent trip to Solutions - they have everything you can think of (and more) to help organize and accessorize your home - from closet organizers, to large tupperware for storage space, to dishes, to bathroom accessories, etc. Some of the stuff is absolulately innovative (that I have seen nowhere else) - I recently bought a set of 'drawers' for under my bed (for extra storage) that were exactly what I needed when I didn't have room for a second dresser - I swear I don't know how I lived without them now that they're mine. I haven't seen these things anywhere else, other than Solutions. I will go back on a regular basis to see what they have in store. The staff are friendly and the price is reasonable as well - you'll see!
